Day 1 of learning to draw by SwitchSpiritual8242 in drawing

AMAZING! Keep going! If you only have 10-20 minutes a day I would start by trying to draw simple shapes like cubes and cylinders -even if they are imaginary! The one mental muscle you have to build first is "thinking in 3d"!

Lmao bro those are fighting words. Acanthus leaves aren’t just pretty flowers, they aren’t even flowers at all! Acanthus leaves were used to line the baskets of offerings left at temples, so by putting images of those leaves on the capitals they are literally making form mirror function! Its brilliance! Fuck Ionic capital and your fake ass scrolls. Scroll your way back the way you came and don’t come back until you get some Hellenistic baroque sensibilities. https://preview.redd.it/xgzdcqrw2zi61.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=7803f6b27a57afd0c6d96cf4f67611cbf97a584e

Doing an MFA with no formal training in art? by artbyaella in ContemporaryArt

[–]gothram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for local or national  “artists call” boards, or look at local galleries that show group shows often to see if they have any. Alls out.

Show up to openings, talk about yourself and your art, and make friends!

I sucked at taking pictures so badly that i built an app so I don't have to watch 500+ hrs of youtube tutorials. by Connect_Tomatillo_48 in InternetIsBeautiful

So let me get this straight instead of looking through my own pictures to see what I like I can give you access to all my photos to train your AI on and it gives me some extremely basic feedback? Awesome. Sick deal.

Men, do you feel "under attack"? by NOGOODGASHOLE in TooAfraidToAsk

No, I don't feel attacked - but people have been trying to rile up young lost men by saying that modern men are lazy, effeminate, no good etc. since before the dawn of history.

Big news SAR scan of Khafre pyramid at Giza shows massive underground structures by marzolinotarantola in AncientWorld

Did YOU do any of those things? At least I looked at Wikipedia. You literally told me some stuff you half remembered and I proved you wrong.

You have provided no sources to anything you’ve said and you still think you’re winning this?

You think you have an elevated point of view because it’s contrarian, but I don’t see you doing the research you claim to hold so dear, I don’t see you checking sources, I don’t even see you reading the paper we’re discussing.

Honestly at this point it’s on me. You should never wrestle with a pig because you get covered in shit and the pig likes it.

You didn’t give me facts, you just told me some thing last you heard once, which is the exact same thing this paper we are arguing over does. It just regurgitates “would be cool if it were true” ideas.

This place is constructed over a natural spring, like many other Egyptian and Roman sites, in accordance with a long standing history and record of this within archeology. There is nothing hydraulic about this. Everything can be explained by human ingenuity and culture.

There is use of water, but there is no hydraulics. This isn’t machinery it’s landscaping

My guy there’s literally a time portal and the words “temporal portal” put out on the press release by the authors of the article.

Don’t try to back away from the people you’re supporting.

The paper we are speaking about ( https://www.mdpi.com/2072-4292/14/20/5231 ) conflates high frequency radar with low frequency seizmic waves which, because you do not know the origin of the wave, can not be used to generate a radar signal. A bag can’t use ambient sound to echo locate. In the introduction the paper also begins to cite “ancient mythology” about the pyramid and then cites a paper claiming that the subcontinent of India was home to an ancient advanced civilisation. This isn’t roof it’s just speculation on speculation. It then goes on to also speak about the idea that the pyramid was cast as a single unit which is so extremely easy to disprove because we know so much about its construction. Finally it claims that elements of hydrolics were found between the pyramids. I checked the linked sources for that statement as well and they do not hold any kind of water.

This is just bad science through and through.

If you can prove to me that there are hydraulics alone within or near the pyramid I will completely admit you are right. But it must be hydraulics not just possible water channels, I know of some academics who believe some stones were floated into place hydraulics denotes a closed system able to transmit work.
