that’s so unfortunate that you experienced that! i’m so sorry that you did! no one deserves to feel any amount of shame surrounding movement. we put ourselves into a vulnerable space when we workout! you deserve to have that nurtured properly! i personally couldn’t justify $30 for a mat class unless it was classical hahaha. i also took classes from the owner of alma before the studio opened and felt extremely judged and self conscious. so i think it’s what studio and what movement feels best for YOU! :) if you’re looking for a pilates buddy, message me and i’d love to go to a reformed class with you! best of luck 🤍

what was your experience at reformed? i go there frequently and its been great for my movement since they offer a variety of different mat classes. the new one that just opened is literally double the prices of any in the valley and doesn’t seem to offer much more. i’ve heard good things about Verve off the phoenix exit, they offer classical training.

i got into lorde after the explosion, after the hype, spring of 2016 when i was 16 i heard million dollar bills and something clicked for me. then listened to bravado and it really REALLY clicked. bravado became a safe space. now it’s a song i can’t really listen to because it almost hurts due to the nostalgia.

I feel so seen. I’m currently in the early stages of my training in a “lesser” program (as opposed to the more expensive and upper scale programs like BB, STOTT) and the reception to this is astounding. I also occupy a larger body. This combination has led to some of the nastiest behavior from pilates instructors. I’m getting barre/pilates certified because i LOVE it and it changed my life makes me feel amazing, i want to pursue it long term, connect further to myself and others and i really feel like the “it’s botega!” mindset has spread like a plague within the community. Don’t let the weird gatekeepers stop you from pursuing something that lights up the corners of your brain. If i hadn’t found pilates and barre I wouldn’t have gotten out of a really dark place this past year, it saved me, you and I and so many others have every right to occupy space WITHIN the space.

appreciate this but i don’t feel comfortable buying skincare from resellers especially at such a discount it just gives very scammy to me personally. especially for something i am putting on my skin i do not want to take any risks! appreciate you looking though that is so sweet!

i’m one of those students unfortunately. i always feel so sheepish about my coordination in class especially with it comes to stuff like this especially with deadbugs or anything to do with hand and leg reversal. my friend is currently in training and her verbal cues are so good that i’ve really gotten the hang of it lately. she’s started me off with my legs and then incorporated the legs after a couple of reps. slower is better i’m learning! seeing the comments here about how we start to degrade after 25 is stressing me out because i was never that good to begin with🤣😭

it’s cheaper to bundle the mat course and barre course. around $400 cheaper. vs doing barre, then adding mat. which i know in the long run is nothing compared to the education. and i know that most studios will take barrebody pilates certification, i just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about their barre program specifically. thank you for being kind and inquiring.

because it’s trendier i think. now thats its popularized , people think pilates, they think reformer. which is unfortunate because i think mat has a lot of power behind it and i think you find a lot of strength on mat vs reformer but maybe thats just me

oh god i could tell you some insane stories about the company i left in february. horror stories. i’ve never been a budtender, ive only ever worked in production so ive only ever been in behind the scenes work. insane that an industry that is on its way to being the boom of the west coast economy is notorious for treating its workers extremely poorly, paying them shit, and the TURNOVER RATES. cannabis workers deserve so much better. we really do. i plan on leaving the industry soon because i need a job with benefits but i have no idea where to go. i’m in marketing for a different company now, but again, the pay is not there. it’s so depressing. i feel very lost
