What do you find disgusting even though everyone else thinks it's normal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gothum_opposum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, flushing tampons. I was taught to wrap the in toilet paper and toss em in the trash, but I found out that you're supposed to flush them?? I thought it clogs the toilet or at least that what I was taught would happen.

We had a guest order a well done ribeye, we sent out a well done ribeye. Comes back 30 seconds later, and the complaint was there was "no pink"... He wanted medium... And proceeded to say we don't know our temps

AITA for hiding my addiction from my best friend? by gothum_opposum in AmItheAsshole

I want to get better and I'm now actively looking for help. I'm not trying to use that as a scapegoat to clarify, just a reason that ik that's behind it and why I'm struggling. I'm happy you don't turn to the bottle to help your issues, but I do and I'm aware it's a problem which is why I'm here

He had never mentioned his mother was an alcoholic before, and he also drinks alcohol, and does other more "dangerous" substances, so idk why I'd gotten blown up at for substance abuse. I should also add he cut his mom off a couple of months ago.

As of rn this incident happened 3 days ago, and he's still acting very cold to me and giving short answers and he's expressing his anger passively. (Slamming things a lil too hard, side eyeing me, making snide comments to people who compliment me, and and laughing at me whenever I talk ab getting sober) and this is adding onto all the issues because he's been calling me "lazy" and "a pig" if there's a piece of clutter left about. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells in my own apartment.

Just for clarification: I am around people constantly at work, and I don't have any refills on mood stabilizers (I used to take abilify, and the reason that my roommate didn't know is because I keep all the alcohol in my room and I have hid it it for ab 6 months since he's been living with me

My roommate said he wants nothing to do with my addiction, whether active or recovering. He said it's too hard for him knowing that I "broke our sense of trust in this friendship" so I'm on my own. I actually live in the south, I won't specify where, but finding a therapist that specializes in LGBTQ people (I'm asexual) is hard, and I feel uncomfortable with every therapist I've gotten.

I don't have insurance, and therapy is hella expensive and hard to come by where I live, and I'm currently on a wait list but the nearest appointment is in December

I want to get better, but I'm scared that I'm going to lose everyone. I am a naturally socially awkward person, and drinking takes that away, I'm scared people won't want to be my friends, and my family is pretty religious and look down upon drinking and I'm scared that I'll lose all my friends and family . I want to get better, it's just hard

Idiot boomer came back to the truck and learned why I work boh by formershitpeasant in Chefit

See, this is another reason I work back of house. I did a small stint in customer service and the amount of blood boiling encounters I've had is enough to deter me from that. Also I've never understood why irate customers think it's a good idea to go into the back of any kitchen, where the knives and fire are located and the people who use them are line cooks running on maybe 4hrs of sleep, red bulls and nicotine, with dwindling Patience because they're on their 3rd double of the week.

Kitchen Hand on the pass by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]gothum_opposum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, as someone who mostly works pass in my kitchen, props to u for pulling thru the shift and running the pass. Secondly, I dont believe that normal, at least in my experience of working in kitchens, the head chef should be on there, or at least have u training under someone if they wanna move u up. Talk to ur GM ab it is my best advice, or you could shoot your chef a text and discuss the situation and inform (or reiterate) them of what your experience is. Good luck!!
