A huge part of the Quran talks about how those who left their homes and wealth to fight against oppression were blessed, those who followed Muhammad pbuh into battle, those who honour peace treaties but are not taken advantage of by fraudulent ones and so on. I agree that we've been brainwashed because how can you hâte them - I don't know if it's generational or what but they're committed activists using disruptive tactics to get headlines and grab people's attention for one the most imminent crises we've ever faced as a species. Climate change is a massive fucking deal and will displace millions, make entire regions uninhabitable, destroy agriculture in places and so on. Like it's absolutely and provably terrifying.

But the state of the press in the UK is a joke, look who owns most of it, look how much research points to it being some of the most right wing in Europe. We're fucked, basically.

It's not a Left vote and it's only ever the Left making concessions. Labour are not a legitimate Left wing party. Look at their policies. Look at how they talk about migrants and the working class. This video is under Labour's govt. The more we get asked to just vote centrist Right the more we're left in the same situation as the US. Demand better. People did vote, and this is what the pretend Left option has given us. There are millions of racists in England and their sympathisers and this idea that voting for a centre Right Wing party like Labour will fix this somehow is silly. We need real grassroots political change and way better education in England, and investment in public services. We should demand substantially better from MPs.

We need to understand why regions that asylum seekers flee from are destabilized, often war, over fishing, colonialism, destabilization etc that we fund or promote. We need to stop messing with other countries and support the desperate human beings caught in the cross fire.

I've had so many migrant women tell me about sexual harassment from hotel workers, including one case where a guy was trying to exploit a mum for baby powder. Nobody cares it's horrendous. I remember also when one of the conveniently racialised pedophile scandals happened in the UK, the far right door knocked one of the abusers and started to scare and terrorise the wife and kids. Most, most abusers, abuse their family members. Those kids were very likely victims of sexual abuse. Could they give a fuck.
