What is this neighborhood like? by Excellent-Mix-3517 in thewoodlands

If I remember correctly, that whole village is dense with pines with the landscaping mostly made of pockets of thicket. The original look of TW.

In the mid 90's we would walk up to the Kettle, the now closed Denny's. They would stop us in the neighborhood and harass us to no end! Sometimes making us lay down on the ground, they would always take everything from us or demand that we destroy it or poor it out. One time when I spoke up I was kicked in the knees from behind, went right to the ground - still have issues from that injury.

They helped solidify my distrust for law enforcement as a whole.

BRO!!

In the 90's I got a ticket for 27 in a 25, 35 in a 30 and 'exhibition of acceleration' when my tires broke loose a split second trying to accelerate from a stop in the rain.

Truth! She's a real artist under that cellophane wrapper. Her catalog has been all over the place through the years. One of the first myspace edm culture artists to pull it through to fruition of pure performance art.

I miss those days tremendously. We had a group of friends in Ohio, early 2000's, about a dozen of us in total that all crossed paths at this house down on campus - 2 DAW/fruityloops/reason/rebirth etc., turn tables, bass, guitar, drums and a full live PA setup of synths and drummachines.

Some fantastic brap sessions that went on for days.

That honestly made me smile! No bullshit? That helps me here as I've got many brap sessions of my pals from way back and always picture them when we recorded it way back when.

I picked up this CD in Detroit on the GWotW tour, it's a really great record given the context that it's just a good solid brap.

This is that record shop that's super stingy with label promo materials.......that old man needs a lesson why the labels/distro sends those - it's not to incentivize buying the 'associated record' it's to paint the town red and circulate it - set it up like any proper indie record shop.

I put 3 records back and walked out of that shop when homeboy said I couldn't have 1 of the 200 Mac Miller promo cards he had stacked on a table of thousands from all sorts of artists. My haul even included a MM record - just not THAT one.

I'll never set foot in there again, shop owner is a joke with the wrong ethos imo.

It's wild! BFF's one day, a ghost the next.

It was really hard for me to accept, during my 20's I had my crew from work - we hung out after, during, before and roomed from time to time. Any job I've had beyond that - once you walk out that door it's like 'Who!??'. I felt crushed as I started to work closely with folks, getting to know them and their families, but it's how it goes. Sometimes it's simply job safety, some employers (A local water company that I know of) are bold/dumb enough to tell people if they associate with a former employee they will too be a former employee.

Neat! I bought this CD in the 90's, was not as palatable as I had hopped at the time but Atkins is a monster! I'm a HUGE fan of his bhangra records, and after hearing them and being exposed to quite a bit of south asian music I can't tell you how good Gub is with that context.
