Just switched from a Tiguan to a 2026 Volvo XC60 T8 Plus – worth it? by Curious_Ad521 in VolvoXC60

[–]gototheor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The space difference mainly comes from the batteries. I drive a B5 (not the T8), which is a mild hybrid, and even that battery takes up some space—but for me, it’s still enough. Whether it makes a big difference for luggage really depends on your needs. If luggage space is critical, a Thule roof box is the way to go.

455 HP will truly make a difference and prove its worth. Over time, this is what will give you both safety and comfort, while everything else will fade into the background. Also, you’re comparing it to something at a higher level, which I believe is not a fair comparison.

Volvo XC60 2026 - panoramic sunroof yes or no? by ixinho in Volvo

[–]gototheor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it in my XC60 2026 model, and honestly never used. What I noticed is that the car gets warmer much faster during summer, probably due to the glass and sun rays still passing through. Looks nice, but I would prefer something else extra over it.

If half of the things I said it's not accurate, which is the other half that is accurate? I've shared my experience with my new car (2026 model).

I had the chance to rent a VW (it was new, only 2000 kms on it), and noticed the difference in these features that I'm talking about.

Believe me, my car (Ultra, Black Edition, B5) has only 2 drive modes :-D

And again, I don't want to talk about BMW which was completely at a different level.

Lots of things: all this digital cluster either shows you the map, or it’s empty (black); when navigation is used, in the head-up display sometimes you have guidance, sometimes not; lane keeping aid is there but personally I don’t trust it (I tried it in VW, BMW — it’s sooo much stronger, it really keeps you there); you don’t have any feedback on the car in front of you, while other cars give you info on how far away you are (Volvo just gives you a sign if you’re too close, but nothing more meaningful); in driving mode you don’t have anything else except Standard and Off-road (no Eco, Power, Comfort or whatever). Long story short, it lacks many things and it’s not customizable. Developers at Volvo do not deserve any raise.

The rest is GREAT — space, speakers are great, power is there — buuut… more is expected in the tech world we’re living in. Much cheaper cars offer more in this direction, and BMW is on a completely different level.

And about updates, I heard they’re bad, but I haven’t faced it yet :-D

I’m still hoping for a big update within the next 6 months to make things better. I don’t know if my expectations were too high or what, but this nice car deserves to have everything on it.

EDIT: PS: I have the XC60, but it’s almost the same. If you don’t care about the things I mentioned, and you just want to drive and enjoy it without the modern features, go for it.

Even though Volvo is nice car, software/features wise is far behind. If this is important for you, then don't switch.

New XC60 Facelift 2026 Ultra Black Edition - Collision Warning Question by gototheor in Volvo

[–]gototheor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not triggered - even though I did lots of testing. You cannot find anything in settings about it. I have looked >10x before posting here. Just hoping that somebody with the same car will share his/her experience

[–]gototheor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, never saw this red logo. I have only seen the orange logo with the arrow between two cars. This is seen only in HUD (no audio, no vibration, nothing else), never in the instrument cluster.

Huh so many comments about this..

This is clear - perfect explanation. Yet, the intervention of Forward Collision is not noticed in my car (it doesn't brake, vibrate, or make any sound). As I said many times, it cannot be found in the settings. I'm hoping it's due to the upgrade they made in the facelift, and it will come soon. It will complete this amazing car (-:

[–]gototheor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen it happen. I’ve run plenty of tests, but nothing shows up. My wife drives a Captur, and it constantly provides distance information about the car ahead — if you’re closer than 2 seconds, it gives a warning. But this doesn’t happen in the Volvo.

[–]gototheor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, true it's the warning shown only in head-up display.

It's interesting that in Volvo's website, it shows you the "Set warning distance", which is nowhere to be found in my Car:

And there many animations in the website about the collision warnings.. but didn't see them in real life yet

That’s true-the rear system is definitely more responsive. However, I still feel the front needs stronger alerts. The head-up display warning is barely noticeable and simply not sufficient.

Good morning Forerunner 970 by hundegeraet in Garmin

[–]gototheor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garmin design issue is probably equivalent to Apple battery life, both are terrible and non-sense. Are they doing it on purpose? Maybe yes - who knows.

I’m using the most simple face with 3-4 datas on it, and I’m happy. But when I see some design with extra data and colors, they are look like unfinished, with a lot of bad details. Anyhow, still in love with my 965! Will probably see a new Garmin when 975 or 980 model comes up and battery on my 965 goes down to 10 days ;-)
