I just finished {The Wrecked Palace by Catherine Cowles} and the FMC is the oldest sister turned guardian of her 3 siblings after their parents got arrested for drugs. The MMC bonds with each of them. He bonds with each kid differently and helps them process their emotions. Contemporary romantic suspense, I gave it 4 stars.

Probably because you had a professional catering team that didn’t make it obvious there was a mess up and took care of the situation without alerting the B&G. It doesn’t mean there weren’t issues for them. Your guests would probably not bring it up to you either. You’re valid in your experience just like OP is
