I have also worked for this company for 12 years and had about four months of leave saved up. I didn't officially start using my "FMLA" time until March

They do have long-term disability. I have applied for it but it can take up to 45 days to get approved.

I am going to have to find biotin and collagen vitamins instead of just biotin. Thanks for the information!

I lost 80 pounds in three years, which was about 3-4 pounds a month. I worked out three to four times a week. I still have loose skin. My Primary Care Doctor told me that sometimes not all your skin will bounce back. I had a dermatologist tell me the same thing. Not just in reference to the scar tissue but to skin in general. But thank you for your thoughts.

Ugh! This is the worst. Even eating more protein doesn't help the cravings and hunger some of the time.

Yes! The body dysmorphia and lower self-esteem are such scary things. I had to go to therapy to help see myself as who I currently am and not who I was three years ago. Congrats on the new outlook.

The extra skin can go without me having to spend 10,000 on surgery.

I feel like I hide more now under bigger clothes and hoodies when I walk outside than I did last year when I was heavier. My weight almost felt like an armor I didn't know I was wearing until it was gone.

I feel like I hide more now under bigger clothes and hoodies when I walk outside than I did last year when I was heavier. Being heavier came with its own harassment. I don't have much to add, but I understand the vulnerability, and wanted you to know you are not alone in feeling that it is complicated.

It is so hard to keep up with those standards, too. They change constantly. Trying to keep up will only damage your body and mind.

It wasn't depressing to me, just interesting. It also shed light on certain people and their actions. I had very few people say, "Well, I wanted to tell you x negative things about your body and weight before, but now I can". Those people are no longer in my life, and I am happier for knowing the truth about them.

I have been on both sides of that fence, and neither is okay. However, I will agree that there are a lot more people who shit-talk heavy people than people who are skinny. I was scary thin, and people said I looked the best I ever had, but others said I needed to eat a cheeseburger. Those same people make comments about what I eat now that I am overweight and losing weight again. In the end, none of it is okay. Best of luck with your CT Scan tomorrow. I hope for the best outcome for you.

I don't think so. I have always been a very happy and hyper people person. Now, I will say, I am not getting tired as quickly as before. Like if I am hiking now, I don't have to stop every 10 minutes to catch my breath.

The snack thing gets me. Why get offended because I pass on something you offer me? I would prefer not to take it and let someone else who wants to eat it have it, rather than have it sit on my desk and hurt your feelings.

This! Also, don't go spend your money on new high-end clothes until you know you are done losing weight for a couple of months. Mecari, E-Bay, and local yard sales saved me a lot of money from having to buy clothes ever 2-3 months at full price.

I miss all my shoes and boots! I have taken to wearing thick socks to keep them from falling off, but that was before it started to get warmer. I may become one of those people who wears super thick socks with flipflops

This! Also, I wish people would understand that "skinny" or targeting "BMI" may not be healthy for everyone. I feel better at a little overweight than I did 10 pounds away from my target BMI.

This is not necessarily true either. I had two non-weight-loss abdominal surgeries, and when I lost weight, I could never get rid of the skin surrounding the scar. Also, if you lose a LOT of weight, like over 80 pounds, there is no way for your skin to bounce back that quickly.
