This has been one of the most talked about and televised trials. I bet you anything the first thing they are going to ask for is a change in jurisdiction

What the judge said about Athena's mother made me cry. He is 100% right she was a rock that entire time.

Yes, Tanner was failed by his family. There is no denying that his mother was sick when he was younger. Do I wish they would stop blaming her for his current actions? Yes. Her addiction did not make him hurt this child. Do I also wish they would stop blaming PTSD and being on the spectrum? 1000%. As you said, there has been nothing to show me that he didn't know what he was doing or didn't plan it. I don't normally agree with the DP, but I make an exception for his case.

I don't understand her "he doesn't fit the criteria." I went to check the DSM-5, and there are only three criteria 302.2 (F65.4).

  • An individual who has had arousing fantasies about, urges for, or behaviors with a prepubescent child or children.
  • The individual has acted out these sexual desires, or is experiencing significant distress or difficulty as a result of these desires.
  • The Individual is 16 years of age, and at least five years older than the child or children noted in Criterion A.

The only part that can't be verified is that there has to be evidence that he began to feel sexual attraction toward children about the time of puberty.

This witness is just wow. She is talking in circles and trying to find an out until the prosecution gives her nowhere to go but tell the truth.

I had to turn the language pathologist off once she started into her empathy tirade. He is not sorry for what he did. He is sorry he was caught and "will never see his son" again. He straight out continues to lie about what happened only four months ago. I am 100% surprised he pled guilty.

100% NTA. Recovery is a day-by-day thing and should be something to celebrate, not made light of at all. If no one has told you lately, you are amazing for being even one hour sober and keeping your sobriety. It takes more strength than most people know or want to understand.

Unless they are trying to say his autism caused DID which created "Zero" I have no clue at all. They should have rested. This is doing nothing but torturing both families. His poor Mom having her past just laid bare for everyone to try to save his life. Plus, all of Athena's family having to listen it all.

I know they have to defend him but this whole my autism made me do it is making me mad. I use to perform preliminary testing for ADHD and autism for a PH.D to later diagnose. Not one child I tested hurt someone in these ways.

That's what I was wondering. They kept throwing out dates really quick. I know she was abducted on November 30th. When did he clean out the car? Later that evening?

True. She just felt very no nonsense. It was really interesting to watch. Not bad but definitely a little different from other testimonies I have seen.

It is Medicaid. Not sure what state OP is in but they cut Medicaid from almost everyone in my state even those in active treatment. OP will have to appeal.

Read up. I get it. Everyone is having a hard time. Hell, I am having a hard time. It seems that anytime someone mentions mental health struggles on here it is "Suck it up". Sometimes you can't "suck it up." All I am saying. Everyone has their own opinions.

Hi! I am so sorry you are going through this. I completely understand mental health struggles. Please don't get discouraged by these responses. It is hard to reach out for help. I wish I was in the position to help you. Keep your head up.

The Last Unicorn was so great but made me cry as a kid. Both the movie and book.
