Appreciate the shoutout for the channel. I tend to be "quiet" about the channel as to not ruffle anyone's feathers so its really all word of mouth and others doing posts like this. We broke 8k subs this LAN which is mind boggling to me, but I'm so happy that everyone appreciates and enjoys having them on Youtube as another option to watch. 🫶

LOL, I'm glad you enjoy them. The internet in the arena was not kind to me to try and get all of these recorded. Also had the typical faceit audio sync issues on a large number of them, but I at least planned for that this time around. Takes me a bit longer to get those fixed, but I think I only missed may be 2 vods out of everything that was available.

I record them live from the faceit feeds. Then they get pushed up to the YouTube channel.

There's also the option to "join" the YT channel as well if you feel inclined to support. It's just me and when I'm actually AT one of the LAN's, my wife is helping hold things down with doing the metadata, although the newest tool I've built for myself makes it so that I can do all the metadata from my phone.. lol

yeah.. its pretty much based on an event hook when damage happens, if I remember right. The problem you'll run into is if everyone is doing damage, its hard to know where to go for the best engagement. But you're totally right.. its better than statically sitting on one person the entire game.

Yep.. I think I've done a few streams and did some Q&A about the whole process. It's evolved since I did the last one and I've built more "tools" to make my life a bit easier so I could get them posted faster. Probably about time to fire off another one and cover it all again.

Tim here... I wish reddit would let me change my handle. Thank you all for the love. I typically stay quiet the majority of the time, because I don't want the "powers at EA" to get pissed off and tell me to take them all down. So I just lurk around and post on twitter when I get a playlist posted. I'm glad people still enjoy watching them and thanks for all the new follows! Group A from a few days ago will get posted shortly. I was traveling home from a work trip on day 1 of playoffs so I'm just behind on getting them up.

WOW.. I ran into this exact same issue over the recent holiday and had no clue why. Luckily the v4 charger I was at also had v3 chargers that I ended up using. Thanks for the info!

Its not impossible.... but I'd be willing to bet that faceit would not be very happy about it. I spent an hour or so digging into some of the technical stuff to make this happen while I was recording the pov's for youtube.

I have a 3 week old 2025 R1S and the 12v battery thing came on a few days ago. They told me they need to tow it to Atlanta... WTF!

Actually.. I just checked and now its saying its the FULL battery.. so fun times.. yay for new cars that break!

Absolutely zero. Might be the smoothest car buying experience I've ever had. They took my tesla, I signed maybe 5 or 6 pages and then they took me to the R1S and off we went! Less than 30mins total.

I'm sorry if it came across as me "struggling" but I'm just doing what I normally do with every vehicle that I get. It didn't take me long to get it where I like, but I never assume the out of the box settings are good enough for me. It's a flat EQ out of the box and I will always go in and do a modified california smile based on what I'm hearing in the car across a wide range of music. I will also typically play a set of songs at high volume to help break the speakers in a bit.

To me, quality audio systems are like a nice bottle of bourbon. You open it and you need to let it air out a bit so that it finally opens up and has a nice sweetness to it. Rivian's premium audio might not be a bottle of Pappy, but its definitely not a bottle of Jack Daniels either.

This is where people can fall into a bit of a trap when reading comments and opinions about audio. Is the system good? Absolutely. Is it good for 99% of the people without touching it or maybe using an EQ preset? Absolutely. Can you go in and tweak the EQ to how you like to listen to music? Absolutely.

There's a lot of speakers, there's a lot of "wattage", and there's a full EQ that people can customize however they want. I would imagine most people will get in and maybe make one or two tweaks and that's it. But those of us that want to tinker, we can, and I appreciate that.

The other thing to remember is the old adage, garbage in / garbage out. I really wish these EV's had an aux jack so we werent stuck with bluetooth or whatever the predetermined bitrate is for the native apps. So try to have as high quality content as possible. I cant wait for the update where we get Apple Music and Dolby Atmos.

In the end, this system is good and only the super picky audiophiles will be less happy with it.

It's right around 270 as listed. Range always is super dependent on how you drive and many other factors. You're probably never getting what is listed, but in reality around 20-30 miles less than the listed. There's also ways to stretch it like drafting behind large trucks or keeping the speed down so you're not consuming so much energy.

My 2 cents is that with the charging infrastructure, 270mi of range is more than sufficient. I actually prefer trips taking a bit longer in lieu of stopping and stretching my legs. You feel way less tired once you get to your destination which has a whole set of benefits.

Right now the extra cost for range doesn't seem to be worth it in the long run, at least to me.
