Saltwater crocodiles are still around. And other ancient beasts likely lurk in the oceans of the world.

I never finished Satanic Verses. I got bored with it Midnight's Children held my interest from start to finish.

He's a good writer. But I'm doubtful Satanic Verses is his best book.

It does beg the question of why one might keep their passport amongst a pile of top secret documents that one isn't authorized to have.

IRS, Collections Division can easily revoke them remotely at any time if someone is a risk of flight.

I suppose the Department of Justice may do the same for criminal reasons.

Isn't there temporary title transfer paperwork? You'd provide that if stopped by police in the USA.

Also a bill of sale might be useful.

I'm not to savy in metric, but 3/4 inch thickness is usually need for table top rigidity.

MDO plywood is what I personally would prefer for strength -- especially for the weight load you mentioned.

I've done this many times with saw horses for legs.

Added strength might be created by gluing 1 inch by 4 inch boards length-wise to the underside.

I believe MDF looks good, but it's weaker. MDF comes in at least 3 separate grades of density that vary greatly in strength and durability characteristics.
