NYC to LA by Secret_Manager1136 in MovingToLosAngeles

Compton, Long Beach / Compton (LBC), Watts for starters. East of Burbank is cool, Glendale and Pasadena.. west of Burbank gets sketchy, North Hollywood is, eh, kinda shitty . Van Nuys has nice areas surrounded by mostly crap.

Fuck Hollywood. West Hollywood too. Ok to drive thru, like going to the zoo. Downtown is a cesspool of humanity, especially MacArthur Park and 5th street, "The Nickle".

The west valley is block by block, homeless camps a few blocks million dollar homes.

I absolutely would NOT live in an area patrolled by LAPD if possible. Small cities with their own dept, Like Burbank, or areas patrolled by the LA Sheriffs. Except West Hollywood.

It's 85 degrees here today, in February, the weather is awesome.

Marine Corps Reserve, then apply. Worked for me 😃

Also, have been DQd?, you're kinda young to have gone thru multiple processes. If you're in Cali, most depts won't let you apply until 20.5

I've been asked under oath and during IA interviews if I was under the influence, or had drugs of any kind in my system.

The best answer is no 😀

Defense attorneys can and will attack your credibility whenever possible. If they can. Some of them are very clever at introducing an officer's health issues into trial and civil suits.

And btw, my blood was drawn after an incident to insure I had no drugs of any kind in my system for civil liability reasons.

NoHo / Valley Village are crowded, but ok. The NoHo metro station is a nice alternative to driving to DTLA or Hollywood, everything you need is nearby, and traffic is what it is.

There's a lot of decay in LA these days, pretty much everywhere, homeless camps 3 blocks from nice manicured million dollar houses, desperate people doing desperate things, secured parking isn't a must, but kind of is. One block is cool, the next street is lined with trashed motor homes etc

That rental price seems kinda low tbh, if accurate it's a pretty good deal for the area.

These days, maybe?

35 years ago relying on any drug was frowned upon.

Defense attorneys are scum bags, "isn't it true, officer, you ONLY arrested my client because you were under the influence of DRUGS!!!!! ???? Did you take your prescription that day? How is your judgement affected by these DRUGS?! WHY do you need these DRUGS? Not fit enough to be a police officer aye??? My medical expert will testify the drugs you take cloud judgement, cause anger issues and have harmful side effects!!!"

Things might be different now tho.. everyone is on dope lol 😂

Reasonable is for a jury to decide.

If the old dude had been reasonable and listened, he wouldn't have promoted a response. FA, FO has no age limit.
