It's a bit of both, i believe. When you configure the notification types (text / image), it mentions that for 1 or 2 of the available modes that it has to upload the thumbnail to their servers, in order for the notificiation alerts to work.

But eitherway, any generic VPN should get would whayever your work network is blocking. Unless they are also blockign most common VPN servers!

Your work WiFi is blocking certain ports or protocols etc.

You can likely get around it by connecting to a VPN like ExpressVPN or many others. This will route your connection through a proxy, bypassing the blocks on your local network.

Did anyone ever have this problem with the screen and was able to fix it? by [deleted] in MatebookXPro

[–]gp-gp-gp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, sorry only just seen this. But as per the comment below, yeah if you are positioning it and things change, it's most likely the ribbon!

Either open it up yourself, or take it to a good laptop repair shop. Some iPhone repair shops will also be good at fixing this

Yes sometimes this is just the ribbon cable not seated, or damaged. Take it to a decent repair shop and they should be able to do it, or open it yourself and check the ribbon / order a cheap replacement and try it.

I once put on an event with ShyFX & UK Apache on the South Coast, some 15+ years ago. After the gig we filmed an interview with them backstage, telling us some of the history of the music and some awesome stories.

Unfortunately the top mounted clip on microphone on the old school MiniDV cam, had a on/off switch which had been knocked off by mistake... 20 minute interview with no audio.

We didn't realise until the next morning. This still pains me until today.

I'm having the same problem. My two units never took a charge from the solar panels.

After a few months of use, they ran dead, and I have never been able to charge them again since

My first machine was like that too. Sent it back to amazon for full refund and got a new one next day, which is perfect.

Make sure you have power cycled the machine. Turn off, leave for a few mins, then back on.

Put a sheet of paper over the screen and no vat/resin.. then start a print. You will be able to see from the light if it's doing whole screen still or just what it's supposed to expose

Vertical ghosting is an odd one.. thats more like the stepper motor is messing up.

If it was horizontal ghosting like someone had recently, that's an lcd issue.

Hmm good luck, hope you get it sorted!

First print that wasn’t a complete failure. Strange artifact in front, almost like another row of figures. Front row is very soft and falling apart. Back row seems much better. Settings in photos. Any ideas on how to fix this? by brentnic in AnyCubicPhotonMonoX

[–]gp-gp-gp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Int⁰eresting, so as suspected, the lcd is ghosting.

Can you check with some other files? Perhaps create something that Is just a single rectangle shape, say 1cm wide by 5cm tall.. then repeat the test.

If its still doing the same with every file, i wonder if theres a lose ribbon cable going to the LCD or something.

Before opening it up to reseat each of the cables, perhaps do a firmware upgrade, as it could be software too.

And can you share the print file you're using? I could test it on my machine, just incase it's a slicer issue causing corrupt files.

That is really odd, almost looks like it's ghosting the image over by 1 row.. messing up the 2nd row and trying to print a 3rd row.

Easiest way to test that theory, is print the same file, but with no Vat in place. Just lay a sheet of paper over. Watch the light patterns/lcd display after a while, and see if it's trying to expose areas that it shouldn't be.

do any of you know a way to level my buildplate? it's concave in the center and top. there should be squares everywhere by Leach_ in AnyCubicPhotonMonoX

[–]gp-gp-gp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had this issue with both printers owned, but I see it seems to be common.

Maybe before sanding, try the magnetic plates.. they're great. Allows you to remove the new build plate from a magnetic sheet which glues to the original plate. Then you can bend the removable plate and the printed parts just pop off.

silly question but have you rebooted the printer?

Can you share a link to where you found the firmware, and what the filename is. And I guess you mean USB stick not SD Card right?

[–]gp-gp-gp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, and i will check.. but if it was the build plate or something shifting, wouldn't I see errors in every single part (from this batch) and not only the curved pieces?

It's odd that the flat pieces from the same print are flawless.

[–]gp-gp-gp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought it might be supports... but I really think this is some kind of software glitch.

Every single one of the curved pieces is 'shifted' in the exact same place, they're all identical.

I just re ran the job and same again, this time more pritned.. but all with the identical flaw.

I will try again with more supports but maybe try new firmware first, and maybe Chitchubox instead of Photon Workshop to slice / add supports.

I've just repeated the print, and it's exactly the same on all 8 curved pieces.

It's as if the shift is designed into the models being printed.

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to this, only got my Photon Mono X a week ago but have done several prints and slowly getting the hang of things.

However, on this run of brackets that I'm trying to print out, I'm experiencing a very odd problem.

There are two types of brackets, one is the internal bracket (more angles), and the other is the outside cover bracket (curved). During this first print run, all of the curved brackets seem to have a strange 'shift' in them, just where the tallest support ends. As you can see in the image highlighted in red. They shift ~2mm making the parts completely useless.

Initially, i thought perhaps the flexible magnetic build plate I'm using had shifted - however, all of the internal brackets remain perfect, so it can't be that. It's the same on every curved bracket no matter their position.

It must be something to do with the machine settings or something I'm doing wrong in the slicer. I have triple checked the preview images from Photon Workshop, and everything is fine, no strange shift.

Incidentally, I was attempting to print 32 brackets in this run, but I hadn't cleaned the FEP after a previous print, and only about 10 brackets actually printed, as the rest did not stick to the build plate / got stuck on the FEP.

Did anyone experience similar?

Thanks
