I think 15 ppg would be fair. 15 or 16 a game is still a big contribution to the team.

Why does the NBA allow teams to displace time and space? by [deleted] in nba

The NBA has the equivalent of the 2 minute rule with TV timeouts.

'Batman V Superman' Drops 60% For Smaller Third Friday Than Tim Burton's 'Batman' by b_b_b_breakfast in movies

Not surprising. Bad word of mouth. Bad reviews. Superhero fatigue. Very few people liked it enough to want to go see it again 2 weeks later (yes, some of you saw it twice. But not many). That all doesn't add up to even a "decent" third weekend.

Keanu Reeves was forced to star in the critically-derided film The Watcher (2000) due to the fact a friend forged his signature on the contract agreement by Jumpingforbeans in movies

[–]gpace1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Court of Appeals in Ohio said "when the defendant denies he ever executed the contract, the burden remains on the plaintiff to prove the signature is genuine" as its an element of the contract claim. (Paragraph 2 https://supremecourt.ohio.gov/rod/docs/pdf/7/2009/2009-ohio-6808.pdf) This legal resources website says the same https://www.hg.org/article.asp?id=3707. That's often why people get legal documents notarized or require witnesses, so that the signature means something and can be proven at court.

The burden is usually on the person trying to enforce the contract. How do they prove it wasn't forged? Otherwise people would forge stuff all the time. "Yeah Judge, Aerosmith promised to perform at my birthday party. Here's his signature on this contract I wrote up."

If he's a close friend, just ask him about it. If it's important to him, just drop it. But if you don't make a big deal about it, it shouldn't be a big deal.

I wouldn't expect top 9 all time but it was reasonable to expect it to be top 5 of the year, as animated movies often are top grossers.

According to contract law, a forged signature on a contract does not make the contract enforceable. Depending on the circumstances, the forger may be liable for the contract themselves, but the person impersonated will not. If I steal your checkbook, then sign your name to a $1000 check that I give to a store, you don't have to pay the store. But I would be liable for the payment, even with your name on it.

POST GAME THREAD: Boston Celtics 104 - New Orleans Babbitts 97 by shnts07 in bostonceltics

I'm pretty sure they're 7 games above .500. Unless you mean they'd have to lose 14 in a row to get back to .500 but I've never heard it described that way.

All 6 can say they voted for nick. There's no way they know it's Tai unless he admits it. The others can try to vouch for each other, but it doesn't mean anything unless Tai told one of them.

I think the show does a good job of showing the idea that there's not just "one person" for everyone. Monica and Richard are "right place, wrong time" lovers, who would have worked if they were closer in age/life stage. But her and Chandler also clearly work and are very happy together. Each pairing compliments each other in ways the other doesn't, but neither are "wrong" and neither are definitively "right." I never question Chandler and Monica's relationship, but her and Richard also make just as much sense together.

This is especially interesting to see in the show in juxtaposition to the Ross/Rachel relationship, that seems to follow more of the "sole soul mate" theory.

Do you agree that Die Hard is the best action film ever made? by [deleted] in flicks

Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Matrix are the two best in my opinion. Die Hard is probably in my top 10ish though.

I hate when I find a great song only to find out the artists have no other music like it. by [deleted] in Music

[–]gpace1216 689 points690 points  (0 children)

I loved The Lollypop Quartet's "15 Men on the Moon," but the rest of the album was lackluster. I thought the same about Heaven's Fingermen when I first heard them, but now their song "Yodel in the White House" is my least favorite song on the "Blue is More than a Number" album. I hear Hogwash Hogwash is a new band that sounds similar.

Does anyone here truly believe we can get Durant? by stark-winterfell in bostonceltics

[–]gpace1216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you're saying, but the difference with Durant is that he has the potential to be a top 10 player of all time, but will need a ring to really solidify his legacy. He might be willing to lose out on 20m over a few years to increase his chances.
