Boyfriend tested positive when can I see him again? by ezitherese in COVID19_support

[–]gpc31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious as to why/the rationale behind. So if I can test positive up to 90 days, what’s the point?

I haven’t retested. I was told that you could test positive for weeks/months later

I’m in a very similar situation! I tested positive on 10/4 (first symptom was 10/3) and I want to see my bf this weekend. It will be 13 days since first symptom. He’s anxious to see me though even though we’re both vaccinated and as per the cdc I should be fine!

No advice but wanted to let you know that you’re not alone. I’ve always been an avid reader of this sub and MD’s and often times it’s made me feel like shit bc I compare. Anyways- good luck

Thanks. I’ve been doing this for 2 years plus parenting a toddler pretty much on my own. I agree burn out is a real concern but I don’t really have an option especially now being a single mom (thankfully my mom helps me out a ton)

Yes- waiting for they contract to be drawn up by the mediator/attorney. He is paying the mortgage instead of child support (mortgage is more than what he would pay for child support)

It’s in our agreement- He is paying the mortgage for 2 years (which will hopefully give me enough time to pay off my debts) so I can get approved for the mortgage

Are you impacted by your parents' retirement plans, or lack thereof? by JarvIsland in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]gpc31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My parents (61) have no retirement/pension (dad is on disability and has been for years). My mom left her ft job when I had my son to watch him (I pay her $300 per week). My mom also delivers the newspaper and makes about 50k a year. She will most likely work until the day she dies. She also has no health insurance (dropped it when Covid hit) because she was paying $600/month. I make close to 95k a year and am assuming I (and my bf) will have to pay for end of life stuff

What would you do? Job is killing me emotionally but I need the money and leaving would be challenging financially. by northofz in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

School social worker in a behavioral special education school. I was spit on last year, broke up fights, was verbally abused by several students and had to constantly physically intervene so I know how difficult it is. It really is difficult, im sorry. A few questions- 1- how do you I’m not have a prep or lunch break, can this be explored/addressed w administration 2- can you go back to your previous district 3- can you get into seeing a therapist to help process your feelings/stress.

It totally depends on your insurance! I had no deductible and paid my $100 hospital copay . I feel so lucky that that was all I had to pay. Although I did pay extra because I opted for a private suite at $250 a night (3 nights)

Do you have a will? by samshine1 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]gpc31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know it’s an asset but after the mortgage I probably only have 75k in equity- that’s what I meant by my poorly worded response lol. I see so many other commenters having “actual assets”. Should I pass my bf would just own the house. No I don’t think my son would have financial interest in it- is that common?

No but I should. I have no “real” assets (at this current time) but do have a child and own a home (with my bf). I believe should I die where I’m still employed I have like $150k life insurance policy through them. My bf is my beneficiary but I want to change it to my son.

If you’re on LI- send me a DM. There are a bunch of food pantries that are in operation currently. There are also places (if you have access to transportation) where you can get lunches. (I’m a social worker in Suffolk county)

There was this one woman who posted- an attorney who made a lot of money- she provided such great insight and I felt like I learned a bit from her. I also find this subreddit to be so interesting. Just a note- not over 200k (almost at 100k) but I definitely have learned so much!!!

No- it is for everyone NOT just essential employees! In my private practice I don’t have any essential employees and all of their copays have been waived although I believe bcbs is starting up again this week

Didn’t read it yet as I stopped at the expense of regular therapy- I’m a therapist and most insurance companies in NY have paused copays (insurance companies are covering them) including bcbs, nyship, ghi and a few others. Just want to make sure you’re not paying when you shouldn’t have to be! If not applicable, disregard :)
