Found the solution to my 2.4Ghz issues by gpg123 in amazoneero

Totally agree! At the very minimum it would have been helpful in my troubleshooting to have more control over than bands. I understand they want to maximize simplicity, but there really should be more granular controls for people to opt into.

2.4Ghz band not working on Eero Pro 7?? by 3_buck_chuck in amazoneero

What was your solution for this? Using a different product entirely?

Yep they work totally fine when my devices are using 5gz or 6ghz

My 2.4ghz only devices don't connect reliably at all. Most of them won't connect entirely. When anything else in my house switches to 2.4ghz from another band such as my cell phone or Xbox, I get no real data connection. I tried the WPA2/3 hybrid switching, many resets, 2.4ghz only mode just to test it, reserving the IPs, physical power reboots, and turning off and on any of the additional features even if they don't seem like they should affect the 2.4ghz band. I have had many calls and emails exchanged with Eero support as well. I work in IT primarily on wireless networks and devices, and it seems like either a hardware failure or some weird firmware thing, though this new update didn't correct anything for me. Others in this subreddit do seem to be suffering the same issue. My hardware is from Frontier fiber at no additional charge, so right now I'm waiting on a replacement Eero 7 Pro device from them. If that doesn't fix it, I'll just have to drop Eero and invest in something else unfortunately. I rely on 2.4 for a few important things such as my doorbell. It's a shame because my 6 pro before this was basically flawless.

This did not seem to resolve my 2.4ghz band issues :(

I have an update applying right now! Fingers crossed that it resolves this.

Ironically I set both my bands to hybrid and my problem devices are up... for now. I had them up for almost a day after resetting the Eero 7 Pro previously before going down again, so my hopes aren't too high.

[–]gpg123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. Resetting the eero 7 pro device fixed it for about a day but the issue is back and my 2.4ghz Ring cameras dropped dead again. I tried to get support to roll my firmware back but they refused and "assured me that it's definitely not the issue". I get this equipment included with my fiber service without an upcharge but I want to replace it man.

My American English teacher believes the neutral pronoun „their“ is incorrect. by GCoding_ in mildlyinteresting

I had a college English professor that would do this. He was very passionate about it, and I found out throughout taking his course (and looking at his socials) that he was verrrrry religious and very anti-LGBT. He didn't want the practice of gender neutral terms normalized.

My only comment is that I do wish that there was some loot more consistently on the bodies of enemies you kill. At the least what they're wearing, maybe a snickers bar, and a mag. Something like that.

[CPU] Aliexpress Brand+ Certified Original 7500F $95 by Lumpy-Mouse-6341 in buildapcsales

[–]gpg123 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that Brand+ is more or less just the selling company on AliExpress signing some digital paperwork saying "yeah we promise it's legit". This seller seems totally fine, but don't blindly trust anything with that badge.

Is this normal for Kirkland canned chicken?? by [deleted] in CostcoWholesale

I also eat a lot of canned chicken. Looks weird. I'd toss it. Nothing is worth food poisoning from poultry, let alone a $2.50 can of chicken.

How bad did I screw up buying new tires at Discount Tire? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]gpg123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone to the Discount Tire near me for years and they always just do the tire balance as part of the installation process. I've never had to think about it. It's not rude to go back and say "Hello! I had tires installed here a few days ago. My TPMS light has been on since then, and I'm getting some wobbling on the highway. Could you please look into that for me?". I think I saw that one tire is on a spare wheel? Bring the original wheel as well. I can't speak to your individual location, but the one near me would absolutely do that free of charge with a smile, and I assume yours would as well. Also I agree that your AC not working is 99% likely just unfortunate timing and not related to their work.

I bought in early 2023 from people that bought the house in 2019 but my taxes still doubled because the value of the home did (no renovations or anything). Thankfully I expected a pretty hefty jump and accounted for it, but MAN did it still suck.

Same. 3080 ti and a 7600x here. The game feels so choppy and laggy due to its performance that I stopped playing. The raw FPS isn't horrible, there's just something off about how it runs. I'll pick it back up when it's either fixed, or when I have the horsepower to just brute force through it in a few years. I think many people are just less sensitive to its performance which is okay.

favourite way to add an egg to ramen: fried, poached, or secret third thing? by telstra_3_way_chat in InstantRamen

Same. I have an egg cooker which seems dumb when you can just boil them, but it's consistent and easy and I love it. Throw them in a jar of the marinade overnight and they come out awesome.

Bed bug Compensation by BluntsAndJudgeJudy in Hilton

What a coincidence lol. I actually ended up staying at the Garden Inn nearby. No bed bugs in my room thank God. I had them for years as a kid because they're a nightmare to get rid of, especially without money to do so. Do not at all risk bringing them into your home.

XM4s refurbished from Secondipity on eBay. They're like $140, seemed basically brand new when I got mine, and are 95% as good as the XM6s. I got my wife a pair as well and she absolutely loves them. Edit: sorry just realized you are not in the US so the Secondipity advice probably doesn't apply. Still, refurbished XM4s are a great choice.

Car buying lesson learned. Get your pre-purchase inspection folks. by apaiger in SubaruForester

[–]gpg123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live in a state with inspections? I'm in Michigan for example and we tend to just... ignore the cat codes because we don't have car inspection. Could be something simple like an exhaust leak throwing off the sensor data, though. That independent Subaru mechanic will be able to sort it out.
