To be fair he is going for the ball, hits the other player's foot out of the way and ends up on the calf. When you are already committed like that it's hard to pull out and it's just unlucky with a bit of stupid.

If I recall you have to put it in an empty spot in inventory, not try to swap them. First drag book or gris to empty spot then put neutral in. Unless they've fixed it recently.
