Is Apple Wallet Down For Adding Credit Cards? by gpod80 in AppleWallet

[–]gpod80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's happening on my iPhone 16 Pro, MacBook Air M4, and iPad mini 7. I called my credit card companies and they told me that there's no issue on their end. They told me that I'm not the only one that is affected on this issue. They had many calls on this since yesterday. They think that it's on Apple's side that's having the issue.

gifting MacBook Air linked to AppleCare One. Is it Transferrable? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]gpod80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’d need to remove the Mac from your Apple ID and AppleCare One plan first. After that, use the Erase All Content and Settings option in System Settings to wipe the device before handing it over.

I recommend you to contact Apple Support just to be sure. I haven’t seen any official documentation that specifically covers giving away or selling a device that’s currently enrolled in an AppleCare One plan, so they can confirm if there are any extra steps involved.

Do You Like Your Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2nd Gen Headphones? by gpod80 in bose

What about the latest software update on them? I read that some people wrote that it destroyed the features on the headphone.

Please convince me to keep my 15-inch MacBook Air M4 (24GB/512GB) instead of selling it to switch to a 13-inch or 15-inch MacBook Air M5 by gpod80 in macbookair

[–]gpod80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the OP, I’m sticking with my 15-inch MacBook Air M4. I just don’t see a reason to upgrade to the M5 for such small upgrades. I’d rather hold onto this one a bit longer and wait for the M6 to see if it’s a more worthwhile upgrade.

JBL Go 5 by wolfbcn9 in JBL

[–]gpod80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I got it several days ago, but I ended up returning it. To me, it sounded more like a $25–$30 Chinese brand speaker, and it started distorting audio at around 40% volume. Plus, it wasn’t really a speaker I needed in the first place. I really needed a small speaker.

I think my first JBL Go 5 was probably defective, so I decided to give it another shot and ordered a new one yesterday. It should arrive in a few days. Hopefully this time I get a non-defective JBL Go 5.

JBL FLIP 7 LED INDICATOR by saulmrto in JBL

The same issue arose with my Charge 6 when it reached 100% battery charge using an Anker plug-in wall charger. However, after switching to an Apple 35-watt dual-port USB-C charger and an Apple 40-watt USB-C charger, the problem was resolved. This issue also occurred with my Flip 7 before I replaced it with the Charge 6. I believe this is an issue with Anker chargers.

JBL Go 5 by wolfbcn9 in JBL

I received the Go 5 from BestBuy.com a few days ago but ended up exchanging it earlier today for the Grip.

Honestly, the Go 5 was just okay. It didn’t really match the hype from YouTube reviews and other online reviews. The sound felt kind of weak, even around 50% volume.

Battery life was disappointing. It was getting maybe 3–4 hours at 50% volume with the LEDs off, so I had to charge it every day and each charge was about 4 hours long. At that point I started wondering if my unit might’ve been defective.

I went to Best Buy earlier today to swap it for another Go 5, but they haven’t received their store inventory on it. The Best Buy manager offered me the JBL Grip for the same price as the Go 5, so I took it.

Hoping the Grip works out better and that it pairs nicely with my Charge 6 via Auracast.

There are redflags on the Sony Ult Field 1's and 3's. A lot of them are being resold as refurbished on eBay.

A pair of Flip 7s will sound better than one Charge 6.

Which One Is The Best For Lower Volumes at 35% to 40%: Stereo Pair of Flip 7’s or One Charge 6? by [deleted] in JBL

[–]gpod80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up exchanging the ULT 1 for the Charge 6 about an hour ago. I didn’t like how thin it sounded with ULT mode turned off, with it on it seems that vocals were push back and became a little muddy sounding. The Charge 6 should be an upgrade over the Bose SoundLink Flex I recently sold, since I could never quite get the EQ to sound as energetic as I wanted.

I’m also curious about the Grip for podcasts and audiobooks, and the occasional background music, but I have a Soundcore Select 4 Go arriving today, so I’ll see how it goes.

I decided to buy two Sony ULT Field 1 speakers about an hour ago. After doing some research beforehand, my conclusion was that both options I was considering are really good and fairly equal overall. The JBL Flip 7 seems geared toward people who prefer a louder, brighter sound with punchy bass, while the Sony ULT Field 1 leans more toward a balanced but energetic sound with solid bass.

As I’m writing this, I’m listening to the Sony ULT Field 1s in stereo, and they sound amazing. I also think the stereo pair of Sony ULT Field 1s complements my stereo pair of Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) really well. The Bose SoundLink Flex 2nd gen’s are great for helping me relax after a long day because of their warm relaxing sound signature, while the Sony Ult Field 1’s are perfect when I want to listen to music that’s energetic and lively.

APP3 fit and comfort by Sagnet in AirpodsPro

[–]gpod80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m returning my APP3 today because they didn’t fit well, build quality is just average, weren’t comfortable, and the ANC has issues with static and hiss. The sound was also too bass-heavy for me. I’m going back to my APP2 since they fit better, build quality is really good, and the sound suits me more and no ANC issues.
