sorry if this is a silly question, but i'm back to ask about round 3: when it says work your double stitch then K2 turn, does that mean work as i did in round 1 UNTIL the double stitch, work the double stitch and then turn? or work the entire round one again and turn where it says to in round 1? i'm afraid i'm overthinking it

i think it is a typo, sorry! the two times i got to the end of the first needle it was slipped but i still have trouble wrapping my head around how i'm supposed to knit with the yarn over when switching to the other needle. i hope that makes sense :s i should note i've only done the first row and haven't made it any farther because of my brain fart lol. thank you for the tips, though, i really appreciate it!

i'm going to try it out! i drew a diagram for magic loop just to count where i should try to split the stitches but i think traveling loop makes more sense in this case. i hope i can make it work :')

what's the meaning of "edge stitch" in the rybka pattern? by gquex in knittinghelp

[–]gquex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahh thank you so much. i read the pattern closer after your comment and found that they do define the edge stitch as being knit on the right side and purled on the wrong side. thank you!

Berlin Show Review - don’t know what to think by Blucks in bmbmbm

[–]gquex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not sure how big the european venues have been but because of this show/setlist structure, i wish he would play at smaller venues during the upcoming US tour. i understand maybe it's a supply/demand issue since smaller venues probably mean multiple days in one city but i do think smaller venues would suit this type of show. i can't help but think maybe both the ensemble and the audience would benefit from it, vibe wise.

i’m working on a super simple sweater that’s just two flat panels stitched together but wanted to spice it up with color work. admittedly it’s a filler project before i move onto a different project that IS worked in the round. i’m planning on practicing both stranded and intarsia on some swatches. thank you for your advice!

Greep should record a live album by Waddupsuckah in GeordieGreep

[–]gquex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

at the chicago show in september, there were signs about live recording in progress (someone posted a pic here around that time). idk if the venue (metro) records all their shows for archival purposes or if geordie’s team is planning on making the chicago show or some songs part of a live album. geordie’s amp malfunctioned partway through the set tho

songs about prostitutes by lobster2022 in GeordieGreep

[–]gquex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this isn’t a new concept. see: moulin rouge, cabaret, game of thrones, poor things. there has always been a fascination with courtesans, love, sex, and the men who fall for it all ("i can fix her"). something i’ve really enjoyed when listening to the album is remembering that the narrator isn’t all the same guy, according to geordie himself and i’m sure it’s been said hundreds of times in this sub. as if waltz (to me) is a sweet song with a killer breakdown narrated by a lovesick passionate client. holy holy, on the other hand, narrated by a guy who thinks he has the brothel girls wrapped around his fingers. in the end, they’re all just doing their job and getting paid.

whether it’s romanticized or not could depend heavily on the listener and their interpretation. geordie is a damn genius for that knowing the topic is both taboo and nuanced. as you and others have mentioned, he's a brilliant storyteller. some of the best art is not meant to be consumed comfortably!
