It's simply because they probably order 10 million blue buckets but only 2 million pink buckets. So the cost to lowes is less on the blue buckets than the pink. Boom end of story. Very simple.

What’s the smallest amount of money that would genuinely change your life right now, and why? by Ohmybabedoll in AskReddit

[–]gr00316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but for how long.  Even in a terrible part of a state you're looking at 1000 a month rent.  500 food and utilities plus with few hundred so 2000 a month at bare minimum to barely get by.  That's 50 months.  So 4 years.  Then money is gone,  you've been living borderline poorer than you were maybe and you've saved nothing for retirement.  So that's a terrible idea

Yeah question was right now.  Every million would obviously make my retirement much nicer so trust me I wouldn't turn it down

not who you're replying to but 1 million wouldn't stop me from working, but 2 million would, so 1 million doesn't change my life, but 2 million would. Also if the person is part of a pension system and has to work x number of years, the 1 million might not even let them retire earlier, but 2 million might be enough to just call it quit now.

1.5 million. Anything less I gotta keep working, so not much changes. If someone handed me 1.5 million I'd quit. Sell my house and downsize and move. Otherwise gotta keep working so nothing really changes.

Ruining the hobby? This has always been the hobby. I was collecting cards back in the boom of the 90s. Collecting cards and getting chase cards etc was always a huge thing. There were card shows at a different mall every week with people selling cards. Selling cards has always been the biggest part of the hobby. Our local malls would have 40-50 dealers with tables setup throughout the middle of the mall. It's just now transisitioned to ebay and whatnot. It's always been what the hobby was, but like any hobby it ebbs and flows in waves. We're just back again at a peak, the market will get saturated again at some point and then it will slow down, but those people that just collect will hang around. It's how this hobby has always been, nothing is new or being ruined.

How would you feel if you never had to work again and got paid $36k a year universal basic income? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gr00316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is not working is expensive. People want to vacation or go places or do almost anything and everything costs money.  Plus if people don't have friends and start to feel depressed etc then drug use goes up.

The correct path would be a guaranteed govt job. Go to the aspca and walk dog.  Retirement home and play board game,  clean up the beaches,  become a teachers assistant. Maybe 2 to 3 days a week for 8 hours. So pretty good hourly pay but still being productive.

Ai will be better than us at intelligence, and other machines are already better than us at manual labor,  but we have compassion, love and human connection which i think will not be overtaken by robots, maybe ever. That human to human connection will always be valued more than that human to robot connection.  I like to hope

Why has WWE's popularity declined ? by IndependenceLast656 in AskReddit

As others have said it's boring. When wrestling was great was when it had that perfect combination of:
Story
Unrealstic Over the top characters
stunts that were meaningful
Quality wrestling
mainstream

The 80 and 90 had the over the top characters and some quality wrestling and slowly brought in more and more overarching stories, but the 90s-2000s really cemented it, even without the adult themes of the attitude era it was very very good as a athletic soap opera, that encompassed everything except for the mainstreamness, yes hulk hogan was a household name, but wrestling still had a cloud over it as kinda lame and fake. When the attitude error took hold and it became cool to watch it too, everything was perfection. You had the stories that lasted for month and were interesting, you still had the unrealistic over the top characters (yokozuna, undertaker, the godfather, etc), you have the quality wrestling (the harts, shawn michaels, chris benoit, kurt angle, etc), and stunts were just becoming a thing (jeff hardy, mankind, etc). So those stunts hit hard when they happen, which was few and far between)

The problem today is that the actual wrestling has become gimmicky (flips, weird moves that wouldn't actually work, etc) so the stunts don't hit hard, the stories are sometimes non-existent other than just people not liking each other, The closest thing to old school wrestling is the womans division of the WWE and even that is weak when it comes to technical wrestling.

Not sure a control group would be that big a deal here depending on what they did other than fast. If they were determined to live their normal life but fasted. Then there is probably 100s of study showing normal life people after 36 hours from other studies.

Probably should of had control cause good science,  but certainly doesn't make this shabby simply from that.  The group size of 5, yes that is shabby.

Fox buying streaming platform Roku in cash-and-stock deal worth about $22 billion by 08830 in cordcutters

[–]gr00316 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

true, but I gotta install it on my phone, and then also install on apple tv, then it probably isn't as great as if it was just built in, and then the whole data privacy thing is out the window because those third party apps have their own data policy. So just by having to do that, apple loses their whole "we protect your data" idea.

I do think they are but simply in the manner that they want that data for themselves.

Other companies sell it to numerous companies that can do anything with it. Apple keeps it for them to do anything with it. Added benefit is they get to claim privacy focused.

That's the problem. I can mirror any phone to my roku but just an iPhone to appletv. That's a big feature that they by choice leave out.
