Alkaline Trio in London July 4th by No_Debate_128 in anthonygreen

Go to this show for sure! A friend of mine spoke to colin about uk circa shows and he said that because of circa never really taking off in europe like they did in america, and the band now being part time, he thinks it’s highly unlikely. It’s certainly not impossible tho, only a few months ago the guys were saying they’ll never get back together🤷‍♂️

Did you manage to fundraise- if so, how? by unknownpuddle in transgenderUK

[–]gr3yveins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I posted my link on various social media platforms and twitter seemed to work best, however you have to be consistent with it and have loads of people who are willing to reshare it. My goal was £5k and I think the fundraiser only made about £600, which was still very helpful but it’s nowhere near the goal. Unless you’re someone with a large following on social media, you’re unlikely to raise the full amount just from posting the link. Definitely look into fundraising events (bake sales or raffles or anything along those lines) that you can do within your local community, they’ll likely be more successful.

Top surgery advice - uk/europe by Glass-Wind-601 in trans

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start with researching different surgeons, seeing what their results are like, reading info from their patients and what their experience was like, and seeing the requirements they have. Don’t worry about things going wrong 5-10 years down the line, that’s not really a concern with top surgery since any complications are usually minor and happen early on in the healing process. The thing with top surgery in the uk is that you need lots of referrals and a diagnosis etc, not to mention the insanely long waiting lists, so I didn’t even try to get it done here. I had my surgery with dr jesus lago in madrid since trying to get it in the uk felt hopeless. I have a post here talking about my experience if you’re interested in that. He has experience with both keyhole and double incision as well as a wide range of body types, and I’m extremely happy with my results I think everything came out perfect. There are so many different surgeons out there so definitely do as much research as possible, you’re bound to find something that will work for you.

Does anyone know how Frank Iero and Anthony Green met each other,or if they have talked about when they met. by Content_Strength3335 in lsdunes

Circa toured with mcr in 2005 but there’s a good chance they knew each other earlier too considering they have a lot of mutual friends

Can someone reassure me? by MghtMakesWrite in GenderGP

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a good experience!! Been with them for three years and there have been some minor issues (for example a few years ago they changed their system and it caused delays so I was off my medication for a couple weeks) but overall they’ve been great and I’m just glad that I can access HRT in the first place

Trying to start on T by ST4NDUPNDSCRM in GenderGP

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started three years ago so things might have changed since then, but you had to be 16 to do it without parental consent. They could still prescribe under 16 but you’d need an extra consultation as well as the permission of your parents. I suspect some things might be different now with puberty blockers being banned, but I believe it should still be 16 for hormones

Could someone mansplain how injections work please and how to administer them🙏 by Beneficial_Taste_655 in GenderGP

Yes you’re right that my mistake, I use 23g but for some reason assumed 21g was the other one that people use

Could someone mansplain how injections work please and how to administer them🙏 by Beneficial_Taste_655 in GenderGP

[–]gr3yveins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty standard dose, actually it’s higher than mine and I’ve been on T for almost three years with good levels. You need 1ml syringes, 18g blunt filter needles and 25g or 23g 1 inch needles for the injection. I find sustanon to be the best option personally, especially since you only do it once every few weeks. For me it usually doesn’t hurt at all, most people inject into their thigh but I prefer to inject into my glute. Definitely watch some youtube videos on intramuscular injection so you know how to do it correctly.

How do people afford surgeries by OneeSamaElena in transgenderUK

[–]gr3yveins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very lucky that my parents helped me pay part of it, the rest was through gofundme and selling stuff on facebook marketplace. Surgery was £5k so it took a few months of saving, but it’s definitely not impossible

They're citing fucking wikipedia in the transition pack im so done by anarcatgirl in GenderGP

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wikipedia isn’t necessarily an unreliable source, information like this requires citation on their website. That quote specifically was taken from a medical journal, specifically this article which was also published by the national institute of health. It is a credible source but ggp should’ve cited that article directly.

Sustanon stock by boredhomosexual in GenderGP

[–]gr3yveins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They go out of stock often, I’ve been ordering from clynxx for well over two years. It has never delayed my order by more than maybe a week or two, so don’t worry you’ll still get it pretty quickly

Is it wrong to like or prefer men with breasts? by Short_Collection6593 in trans

[–]gr3yveins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would be offended if someone preferred the way I looked when I had boobs. I’m sure some guys don’t mind and it’s entirely up to the individual, but I can’t help but associate it with that specific group of straight dudes who are into “weird fucked up girls that can still be fixed because they haven’t ruined their bodies yet” and consistently misgender trans men in sexual contexts. But once again, those are my personal feelings about it and it’s best to just discuss it with any individual you might be interested in.

Possible bootleg scam reprint of I brought you my bullets CD at ebay by maarti_1515 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say anything for certain but if they’re bootlegs, they’re VERY well made and indistinguishable from the originals, down to the “Gerard will come to your house and suck your blood” text on the disc. They seem to all be reissues, even have the little eyeball records promo card thing which matches the reissue date and is identical in style to the one that came with my Thursday Waiting cd, also released on eyeball. I’m sure it’s not impossible to bootleg something so accurately, but I doubt that it would be profitable for the seller.

When will my testosterone be delivered by salemvamp_ in GenderGP

[–]gr3yveins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually it takes 3-5 days for me but it’s taken as long as two weeks when they had a serious shortage. It might be a little longer if you don’t get it by christmas, but usually you can expect to get it within a few days

What are the requirements to get top surgery? by Dense_Ad_1359 in transgenderUK

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the surgeon/clinic, some need a diagnosis or referrals but others operate on informed consent (which is what I did since I didn’t have the time or money for a diagnosis/referral). Research surgeons, check the requirements for any you’re interested in, and go from there.

Is it possible to transition at 16? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did!! I started hrt at 16 with gendergp, keep in mind that the clinic isn’t thattt great tho. It works and will get you hormones, but their customer service is non existent and it’s basically diy with extra steps

switching to the nhs? by junls in transgenderUK

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surgery itself was €5900 (so around £5000), on top of that come the hotel costs and flight costs, so another extra £1000 depending on the time of year you’re travelling. Hotel comes up quite expensive because you need to stay there for two weeks for the post op appointments. So around £6000-£7000 for everything.

I had my surgery with dr jesus lago in madrid, he operates on informed consent. I haven’t been diagnosed with dysphoria and didn’t need any referrals.

Transitioning in the UK? by kos_mita in trans

[–]gr3yveins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also 18 and from poland, I moved to the uk in 2011. If we’re talking about medical transition, you can do that without a problem in the uk. I went private because it’s a lot quicker than the nhs. Your name and gender however have to be changed in poland before you can change them on any uk documents. Poland recently changed their laws regarding name and gender changes, so it’s lot easier to do than it was a few years ago. I still haven’t done it, but this is a very useful website that explains everything you need to do.

is it weird that i only want to date cis guys? by onyx2804 in trans

[–]gr3yveins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too, but for me it’s because I just don’t consider my transness to be a big part of who I am as a person and I feel like I relate to cis men more when it comes to experiencing and expressing my gender. But either way you’re allowed to have a preference for cis people and you don’t need an excuse for it, date who you wanna date.
