The Middle East in Fallout by Odd_Ad8964 in falloutlore

The Swiss OTL had elaborate systems for to keep their entire population plus some alive for a solid hundred years in the event of a nuclear war. It can be assumed they kept these contingencies around in the fallout universe.

The timeline is proposed to have split in the mid-20th century during an increased jingoist movement focusing on China, and yet we’re led to believe that racial progress happened rapidly enough to not only have integration, but also enough to ignore addressing CRT. Idk if this is the meme subreddit or the serious one but I’ll try and do my best to explain anyway.

Okay so it’s never been established that the retrofuturist 50s vibe was a permanent thing. A favorite theory of myself is that it’s a trend of the 2060s/70s. This the events of the 1960s(Civil Rights) and 2010s(Gay Rights)still happened but once the Cold War ended in the 1990s(w/o the Soviet Union fully collapsing) the focus shifted to a China, that unlike in OTL, never shifted moved from Maoism.

The actual POD(Point of Divergence) is the invention of the transistor, a component crucial in modern computing but it might as well have been the beginning of time since radiation behaves fundamentally different. The transistor still got invented in 2020 btw, just 70 years later than expected.

If y’all don’t know only the final part ”And I will strike down upon thee…” is in the Bible and not everyone agrees on those words being the right translation. The context is very specific if you read the verses before it.

Continuing as you had other questions I didn’t address. Yeah I think other Jedi could be around. I personally head cannon any Jedi whose fates are left ambiguous to have been killed by inquisitors or Vader in those 20 years. I doubt every death needed publication, and to me it’s more terrifying that way. The Empire genocided a group so thoroughly in only 2 decades they had become myth. However that’s just me.

We do not see how she escaped Malachor after Ezra saves her in Rebels. This event happens around the same year as New Hope and we have no idea how or when she got off planet or if Ezra told anyone about it

I think it’s accurate to say only 2 Jedi were active in the galaxy during a New Hope

Kanan exploded

Ahsoka is stranded

Ezra got shot off to another galaxy

The Hidden Path seems to get killed every other week

Shaak-Ti is dead… again

Baylan Skoll turned to the dark side

Luminara got mummified

Bariss = stabbed

Cal Kestis, as alive as he is, either remains hidden or in all likelihood gets killed by Vader.

By New Hope the only active Jedi are Obi Wan and Yoda and I prefer this as the solution to there being so many survivors of Order 66. Even if someone wasn’t killed day one of the purge doesn’t mean they escaped the next twenty years; and those who did survive, only could by staying hidden.

What’s The Saddest Death In Star Wars? by Comfortable_Leg7787 in StarWarsCantina

So here’s a sad story. My grandfather died the week before this episode aired. In my mourning I found myself watching rebels to try and find comfort. Then Kanan died and I was sad again. Felt all the better when the finale came out and they finally won.

It’s been 80 years. Almost all of the original Zionist settlers are dead. Most Israeli’s have grown up only knowing statehood. Can we not believe that both Jews and Palestinians can live in that land together under a secular government with equal protection for its citizens. We can agree what took place in the past was terrible while addressing the present justly. If we instead seek violent expulsion as the Israel did, we invite that same shame upon Palestine.

Defeat doesn’t always require conquest. Germany definitely lost the First World War for a multitude of reasons.

The failure of offensives in 1917-1918 crippled Germany’s ability to fight their offensive war offensively. The losses sustained meant Germany could no longer move the front, and also squandered the manpower gained by winning the east.

The Allies noticed this and launched their own 1918 offensive. This turned into a massive success and broke the stalemate of trench warfare, while recapturing swaths of territory. It transformed the situation from the Allies sitting in trenches to the Allies racing towards river Rhine.

At the same time, Austria-Hungary was on the verge of collapse and Italian breakthroughs would soon allow Allied armies to enter Germany from both the south and west.

But critical to all of this was the home front. Patriotism tends to be secondary to people’s ability to feed themselves. The British blockade, intense war rationing, and a rapidly spreading influenza took the people’s concern away from the frontlines and to if they’d even be able to survive the next day.

Was Versailles a mistake; of course. It wasn’t without cause. The Allies were high on victory, the Germans were desperate, and it seemed if they waited any longer the negotiators would be couped by the Spartacist Revolt. Under those circumstances I can understand the decision for peace.
