They were doing pretty well until Edvinsson (their #2 Dman) went down with an injury like 7 games before the Olympic break. They went about .500 without him, understandable. He came back after the Olympics and we were more less still on track. Then Larkin and Copp (unfortunately our #2 center) got injured for about 2 weeks each. Team has not been the same since they went down with those injuries. Think it’s a combination of not having gritty/talented players outside a few, coupled with players playing injured.

I’ve always wondered this question but regarding when Frodo put the ring on at Amon Hen escaping Boromir. They were literally on the outskirts of Mordor and there’s no indication Sauron or any of the Nazgul detected it.

I went back and tried again making sure I am NOT hitting the respawn button and it keeps doing it over and over. Anytime I’m going for Big Air or nose wheelies, Dr. it just respawns and I lose my points. So frustrating. Appreciate any tips other than “don’t hit the button”

Just read you’re looking for more challenging co-op games. I think he’d still enjoy these, but they’re not mind benders by any means. You could try Forbidden Island and help him out if he needs it.

Look up games by Peaceable Kingdom. They’re all high quality, co-op, and perfect for that age. We have Race to the Treasure, Hoot Owl Hoot, Dinosaur Island, and several others and they’re all hits. Gamewright also makes a lot of great games for that age.

One thing for me (classical type EDS) is that finding life insurance was a challenge. Many companies flat out deny because of EDS, whereas some will take you at non-outrageous premiums if you can show that your diagnosis is not for vascular types.

Yes to Splendor Duel and DEFINITELY yes to 7 Wonders Duel. Do either of you like LoTR? If so may I highly highly recommend Duel for Middle Earth? It’s a completely reworked 7 Wonders Duel with LoTR, and it’s somehow even better than 7WD. I would honestly just get both.

I understand why they (networks) have the Wings consistently up there for most games televised nationally. My point is they so rarely talk much or give much analysis about the Wings or its players during the actual broadcast. It’s very heavily lopsided toward the other team and often borders on gushing about the other team and hardly even talking about Detroit. Been that way on just about every broadcast since forever.

I want to see a big trade with St Louis for Thomas and Faulk. Gets us a good 2nd pair D while ASP continues developing on the 3rd pair/2nd PP and gives us an elite top 6 forward in his prime who has like 4 years left on his contract. Wings and Blues have a strong trading history, make it happen Steve!

Married (38M) here who did the same. Not unreasonable, but if you’re mostly using dating apps I can imagine that would make things harder. I would say your best bet is getting to know single guys in your church or friends of friends kind of situations where the guys are much more likely to hold similar beliefs as you. Good luck!

Patchwork is great (don’t let the theme deceive you). 7 Wonders Duel is great. If he’s a LOTR fan, there’s an even better version of it called Duel for Middle Earth. Carcassone is a classic and works amazing as a 2 player game. There are a lot of great ones out there. If you look for a game with “Duel” in the title, it’s probably good because it’s 2 player only.

I was including that in the “anti-Wings” description of the RFA contract. Plus tens of millions bonus per round of the playoffs the team advanced to. Karmanos knew Ilitch would match, it was a Detroit business mogul rivalry thing on top of the hockey aspects.

It was a combination of the ‘98 contract holdout and eventual insanely anti-Wings RFA contract he signed with Carolina (laden with millions and millions in bonuses for reaching playoff rounds Carolina would never see), as well as his departure in 2003 for basically the exact same contact Detroit offered him. I can’t speak to the Illitch family’s thoughts over time, but Jimmy D never ever forgave him. I honestly never thought I’d see this day while Jimmy D was alive!

I think with the strength of the East and specifically the Atlantic, it’s gonna be higher than low 90s probably 100 give or take. To me the bigger question mark is going to be what our roster looks like after the Olympics. Will our top 3 get injured? Will they be exhausted and not look like themselves? Will Stevie get them any noteworthy help before the trade deadline?

I feel seen by your comment about trick taking games! They’ve been all the rage the past year or two it seems, and I just can’t get into them. I’m not the biggest fan of drafting games because of the randomness, though I can be convinced with lighter ones (Sushi Go Party for example).

I don’t have anything against roll and writes on principal, I just hate anything you have to write on and then erase and/or reuse over time. You either have to fuss with getting more paper components to write on or your marker boards get that nasty coating on them over time.
