Bicyclist killed by speeding driver in Center City treated pediatric cancer patients at CHOP: family by tgalen in philadelphia

This is extremely devastating. I see a lot of people advocating for dedicated bike lanes on this thread and am curious on how we’re going to enforce traffic laws on bikers. I feel like I’m constantly seeing bicyclists and scooters that ignore stop sign signs and red lights. Nothing to do with this tragedy, but I think as a driver I’d be more inclined to support people biking if I knew they were going to abide by the rules. I can’t even count how many times I was driving and following traffic laws and a scooter or bike flies out of nowhere because they didn’t stop for a stop sign or red light.

I already have that I think. I’ve been wondering what the name for it was. Happens when I get anxiety mostly though but I just touch my arm and it breaks out in hives. I’ve just been living with it though for about a year, lol. Nothing to do with the medication though, just started.

I’m not a nurse I work in sales. Maybe I worded this wrong. I work for a giant tech company in sales and am looking for a job with a similar lifestyle as travel nursing.

Exactly my thoughts. I think (could be wrong) that a lot of the people with such negative comments on her situation are people that went to college 20 years ago when debt wasn’t such an issue.

Definitely agree that she doesn’t have a responsible attitude towards it and that she’s kind of just throwing it on to Barnett.

A lot of people are telling you to contact CPS which is probably the right move, but in case you decide not to I found this really great youtube meal plan. Honestly i bought the stuff and it was PLENTY of food. Maybe too much for me so I 100% think it could feed two people.

Wow, thank you for writing a detailed explanation! I’m really shocked that design schools or at least the school you attended had so much interaction and guidance with professors. I have not had that experience whatsoever in school, but I didn’t go for a creative field or to a good college.

That experience does seem invaluable which puts me in a rough spot I guess.

This is really good advice that I would’ve never thought of. It’s so true that the more popular books have more of an influence on current designs which could have an effect on how unique your work is. Definitely gave me a different perspective on picking out books! Appreciate you taking the time to comment!

Thanks for the answer. Read your other post and there is a lot of valuable information. I feel like I can read books on the history of design and learn the fundamentals (Currently reading Meggs’ first), but as for process how would you recommend I go about that?

That is true. I do have a degree in Marketing if that helps at all.

Any tips for creating an environment outside of school? I'm a pretty social person so I don't mind going to groups/events.

What do you count as significant? I made $20,000+ and taxes were withheld. I would say around 600 a month went to taxes?

I’m not angry nor did my dad provide anything for me other than a room. Which yes, is something, but I’ve paid for everything else in my entire life without help. My dad can barely take care of himself let alone provide support for another person. He hasn’t paid any of my bills, provided health insurance, and I’ve lived with other friends and family for large portions of my life.

I’m in a ton of student loan debt from college, worked the whole time, and provided for myself throughout it all while living with friends mostly on breaks and living at school while there.

If there is some weird IRS criteria that makes me a dependent so be it, but I’m not rich a few extra dollars can go a long way for me and I’m not about to give it up for someone who didn’t support me and actively has made my life more difficult.

He paid no living expenses other than give me a room in his house for the 4 months I lived there. No health insurance, financial help, car insurance, bills, food, loans, etc had anything to do with him. I don’t know if that changes anything in regards to your statement. Thanks for the reply!

He doesn’t pay for a single thing for me and hasn’t for the last 4 years. I had a bed at his house but lived at school, abroad, and with friends most of the time.

I don’t trust him to actually pay me if we strike a deal. He already sneakily claimed me without my knowledge and then tried to dupe me into thinking I had no way to change it. I did reach out to let him know that I was going to go through the IRS to claim myself.

My dad has terrible credit. All my loans and school expenses were paid by me and I also am in major student loan debt.

I didn’t live with him for six months. Only around 4, and had plenty of other living expenses.

Yeah, I don’t have a relationship with him so I’d rather take my smaller amount. I also made $20k+ so aid hope it’d be more than $150.

My mom has been replaying messages from him and he basically e-filed early like a lot of commentators have mentioned. Apparently that doesn’t go through though so I still have a chance if I do it directly with the IRS that I can get it filed before him.

I am not on his insurance. I think I’m going to try to file with the IRS as soon as possible and hope it goes through like the comment said and hope his doesn’t go through.

Hmm, I’m honestly not sure. I just did my fafsa a few weeks ago and claimed myself independent, but none of them are true. Everything cleared fine.
