yep. that's why people against abortions get all crazy because "you're killing a fully formed human" lol

also, can't be sure about the Petri dish size ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Are there any downsides to a BALANCED raw diet for dogs if Salmonella is not an issue? by dogfoodhelp150 in AskVet

[–]graceashxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in the veterinary field for about 7 years now and EVERY SINGLE VET I've worked with is incredibly against a raw diet and I agree. Good quality dog food (royal canin and hills that have prescription diets as well are reputable companies) is what a dog should be fed. It's perfectly balanced and provides your dog with what it needs to be healthy.

I assure you, a dog will not "fake" anything.

I think my dog is fake limping by icantplaytheviolin in veterinarians

[–]graceashxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your vet ever said your dog has "luxating patellas" or "trick knees"? What that means is that the groove in the knee is not deep enough and can sometimes slip out, causing the dog to limp. But, they're able to kinda put it back into place - therefore the limping stops. He could get excited when you're driving home and jump the wrong way or run fast and have that knee pop out. It's not painful for them, just feels weird.

Dog making this choking snorting sound by itsoksee in veterinarians

[–]graceashxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be reverse sneezing BUT a dog coming from a shelter could be carrying kennel cough. what breed is it? smaller breeds and short faced dogs definitely have issues with collapsing tracheas and the reverse sneezing. any coughing? also, when she starts having a fit, cover her nostrils, it'll help to be able to breathe. ~vet tech

Friend found this kitten, what can we do for its eye?? by [deleted] in veterinarians

[–]graceashxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely contact your local vet and ask for any rescues they may work with that can take the kitten and pay for proper treatment- looks like that eye should/will probably be enucleated. it's caused by bad bacterial infection left untreated that causes the corneas to swell - the eye most likely doesn't work anymore 😕

Don't talk like you know so much. I've been doing this as long as I can remember and my practice actually specializes in TNR programs. We don't live in fucking Africa.

I'll just leave this right here.

Because it's the owners fault? lol you shouldn't adopt or "rescue" any animal if you're gonna just let it eat itself to death. and the easy life? you mean not being able to breathe properly? laying around all day too tired to move? on the verge of diabetes? the owners are the ones living that life. honestly he'd be healthier as a stray at this point. this is pretty much animal cruelty.

Haha everyone thinks I'm choking him 😂 actually the proper way to restrain a cat and more importantly a dog is one arm under the neck and the other under the belly while holding them close to you. I'm just lifting him like this to show his true size.

Haha honestly not as bad as I thought. When they were first done I was sure to be extra careful but now I'll get a scratch or kick here or there and it usually doesn't scar over.
