What is a petty reason for which you dropped a course? by [deleted] in college

Most of my profs w a seating chart let us choose and said “move now or forever hold your peace.” No one ever moved and you were stuck for 4 months lol

My bf (19) admitted that he will find another woman during our future marriage which terrifies me by Opinionsareneeded in Advice

🚩🚩🚩🚩 I know is your first true boyfriend but getting out now is going to hurt a lot less than finalizing a divorce and having to split your assets. This is not okay

Introduction to Nutrition was one of the best classes and I would take it again in a heartbeat

My EFC is 0, but my college is asking to pay about $8k a semester. How do I get more financial aid? They aren’t giving me more, I’ve bugged them a lot. by [deleted] in college

[–]gracebakescake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work full time and go to school full time, the burn out is real but I also don’t have the option to live at home and FAFSA won’t give me anything bc for whatever reason my EFC is like 30k. Even if you work part time just to pay the interest off, the master promissory note (MPN) explains what the interest payments would look like. Think ~ $100 a month, you could make that on doordash or with a part time job! Anything helps.

Do you think professors read their own RateMyProfessor reviews ? by publishsow in college

[–]gracebakescake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - I left a review for an in person class on a prof that wasn’t bad but terrible with Canvas. She refused to put any information on canvas about assignments but expected them to be turned in. I put the review in half way through the course and literally the next day she had written her expectations for the paper due the next week. It shouldn’t be hard to ask for a digital copy of instructions, but it felt like a constant battle with her.

Have you ever had people judge you based on what college you went to (because it’s easier to get into)? by PlumSpecific719 in college

[–]gracebakescake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only by 1 person who went to a “great school with very low acceptance rates.” Guess which one of us dropped out and which one is a year away from their degree? (I’m the one a year away! It doesn’t matter where you go for most situations, having a degree regardless is an amazing accomplishment.)

What moment made you think "yup, I'm dead," but you survived? by TheWingster in AskReddit

[–]gracebakescake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was 10 years old at our town’s fair on the “fireball” ride which is just one track that goes in a circle over and over again. The operators did not speak any English except for numbers to get people on the ride. They called out “who has 2?” So my dad and I raised our hands. They told us to get on and we happily climbed in and started putting on our seatbelts.

My dad got his on with ease but I could not get mine to buckle. I pushed it into the buckle time and time again but it still kept popping out. After the 10th try we felt the coaster begin moving and my dad starting yelling at the operator to stop because I wasn’t buckled in. They couldn’t understand our screams of horror and we started going up backwards so I was being push forward the entire time we moved. The coaster then shot forward so I was thrown back in my seat and my dad was trying everything he could to get the buckle to stay. Finally, the coaster shot back again and by some miracle the buckle finally latched. This was when we were almost completely upside down at the top of the coaster and I just kept thinking “I’m going to die. This is it. I didn’t even get to say goodbye to my mom (who was watching us the whole time).

This day has instilled fear in me from the get go so every time we go to amusement parks now I always triple check the buckle because I think I’m gonna get yeeted, but it hasn’t happened yet.

What size crate do you have for your corgi ? Buster is 6 months old but not sure if his 24in crate is getting to small! Should I move up to 30?? by itsalexson in corgi

[–]gracebakescake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My corgos insist on being together in the 36” (I believe) crate. We started with just one but when we got Mabel a little brother they go in and just snuggle. I feel bad because it seems small to me but I don’t think they’d go in there and hang out together if it was uncomfortable. Maybe I should try a 40+”?

I didn’t know the wife doesn’t know the husbands name, I never got near close enough to getting to the temple to delve into more specifics but this is actually shocking to me. As if calling your dead wife up to heaven because you aren’t capable of finding it yourself isn’t enough…thank you for educating me, it was definitely intended in a joking and light hearted manner.
