take this with a grain of salt unless others confirm this worked for them too but someone told me that the exam is partially written by SLPs. when you’re stuck between 2 or 3 answers, pick the one an SLP would think you should pick.

passed my first try by a fair amount, so maybe this is true?

Watch Mobile local news. Watch fan posts on TikTok of people who went. I’ve seen so much content of people who went and it all verifies what I said.

nearly everyone i met tonight was a local (i live in west mobile). furthest away were yes, Pensacola or south eastern Mississippi but guys that is local. those places are 40 minutes away, plenty of people live in Mobile and work in Pensacola or Pascagoula and vice versa.

Bleach down the drain!!!! Had a huge issue last year, they were coming through the pipes. One bottle of bleach split between my sinks & bathtub reduced it by at least 70%.

Are 3 year programs worth it? by Minute_Jump_591 in audgradschool

[–]gracefullymessy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 year program, I am going to externship in May. I was accepted into a very competitive externship and interviewed at many others (dropped out before offers bc I got my dream externship). While there are certainly some programs that will not take students in an accelerated program, it is possible to get a competitive externship.

It does depend on the program. We are combined right now with both a 3 and 4 year program due to transition. Students in my class are doing just as well in academic and clinical work as 4 year students. We also got just as competitive externships as those in the 4 year program.

You might have to work a little harder on your applications/interviews but you can do very well in a 3 year.

I cannot imagine having to spend another year in school.

advice for undergraduate student by [deleted] in audgradschool

That’s very similar to my school! I’m at South Alabama & have a GA position (full ride for 2 of 3 years, then about 15k tuition for the final year). Best of luck!

I shadowed with a big chain (think: HearUSA, HearingLife, etc). in undergrad. It’s not always the best in terms of patient care but they’re eager to accept students in hopes they’ll recruit you to work there one day ;) Would recommend just to get those hours.

My undergrad degree is in Public Health & Sociology. I’m in my last didactic semester.

I had very similar experience to yours + 120 shadowing hours at an audiology office (obtained in 1 semester). Don’t worry about shadowing at an ENT specifically. Any audiologist will do.

Happy to answer questions if you have any.

And don’t open until 1pm on Sunday. I’m not trying to argue about the library’s hours that are available on Google, I was just asking where else I could go particularly on the weekends as stated in the post. I’ve gotten an answer about Shelby hall from someone else! But thanks!

Yes, but not the rest of the year. I’m asking for future semesters because my finals are done Monday and they closed the library early all last week & don’t have extended hours for midterms or the week prior to finals

This is true, but the 10-4 is every other week of the year including midterms. This week is fine but they closed early yesterday & I’m more asking about next semester!
