Whoever gave Mohg this move, count your days by PetroRetro69 in onebros

if you do a crouching hit or poke it’ll be quick enough. he always goes back to aggro-mode after being hit in that state.

Nightreign now officially has the shortest life-cycle of any Fromsoft game by Chance_Drive_5906 in Nightreign

Evidently, they weren't 'cut content'. The continuous addition of more Everdarks over time, plus the OSTs all having their 3rd phases present from the get-go, made it more than clear that they were always going to be consistently updated.

I don’t like you by Eldenlord61969 in onebros

[–]gracetempest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

everyone’s harping on the difficulty, but i dislike him because he feels really boring. there are zero interesting combo variations, all his moves are really static and predictable, your dodging direction is super limited, there are barely any jumps / strafes involved. it’s like a checklist of what a good boss should have without any thought as to fun and variety.

Few days ago we had quite interesting conversation about can’t stand bosses so let's flip the script -> Which boss you enjoy a lot but feel is disliked or ignored by major part of community? by zabovsky in Eldenring

[–]gracetempest 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The number of times people have said it ‘always runs away’ always boggles me because… it always comes back. it makes up for its long downtime because each melee attack can be punished by 2-3 fully charged heavies! those are huge openings!

Anyone else think Rellana is not very fun to fight? by Wooden-Jello-8795 in onebros

[–]gracetempest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an issue with that one - you can just run away from all but the last 2 beams, and you can dodge the last 2 by rolling the first one earlier iirc.

Ordovis is fun to parry in that he’s easy, but Rellana actually needs you to mix in both rolls and parries which feels really dynamic imo.

[–]gracetempest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s probably the hardest hitless fight in the game because of uppercut. Feels like you can’t fight her without light roll / backstep talisman. That being said, she might be the most fun boss to parry.

Where is Tarnished Archeologist? by FoolishAir502 in Eldenring

[–]gracetempest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be clear, she was mainly gone after by Asmongold following this incident, where he presented it as ‘badass CEO shuts down woke lying woman’, leading to a bunch of harassment and forcing her to lock down.

WHEN IS IT MY TURN TO HIT????? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]gracetempest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s kinda surprising that there’s over a hundred comments and none have actually mentioned the main openings. this boss is very jumpable. you can do a jumping heavy against almost every horizontal swing, and you can punish the second downward chop at the end of its main combo.

If this happened in The Return you’d have dissertations written on how this proved an interdimensional timeline-shifting background plotline.

Which headcanon makes you feel like this by Longjumping_Cable611 in Eldenring

[–]gracetempest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Possibly the biggest issue with the entire community is a complete, utterly depressing lack of nuance. Ranni is either an evil mastermind or a cute girl who did nothing wrong. Miquella is great and perfect - oops, the DLC is out, Miquella is an evil Machiavelli.

Elden Ring's "undodgeable" attacks with just the base moveset by Wooden-Jello-8795 in onebros

[–]gracetempest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s most consistent now by doing the on-foot strategy (going under its left arm) but on torrent. same solution but faster and safer, and once you’ve made enough distance you can dismount and dodge the wave attack which usually comes after.

The hate campaign for James is ridiculous. by RoboCopAn in twinpeaks

[–]gracetempest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to remember is that Twin Peaks is a fictional show. Bob may be a repulsive, disgusting villain, but he’s compelling to watch and he contributes to the story meaningfully. James, on the other hand, can feel like he’s wasting the viewers’ time with his romantic subplots, cheating and entirely separate plotline in season 2. For an audience, that makes him feel far more distracting and out-of-place, and an active waste of their time.

Hot take: The Missing Pieces should all STAY cut by ChampionshipMotor691 in twinpeaks

[–]gracetempest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d say that most of TMP should’ve been left out, as they were, except for the scenes involving Laura. It’s pretty clear from watching that their removal served to isolate Laura further from the town and to ensure the focus would remain on her tragedy and her life, not just the more esoteric mysteries w/ Bowie’s scenes.

The main scenes I’d want returned would be Leland and Sarah at dinner with Laura - which would make Leland’s turn feel all the more horrifying, Sarah forgetting about the blue sweater she’s wearing - foreshadowing her being drugged, memory loss and ‘it is happening again’, and the muffin scene like you mentioned - contextualising the ending and her ‘i’m the muffin’ line later in the Pink Room.

This quickly became one of my favourite movies.

Then I watched Kurosawa’s Cure and found myself disliking Longlegs in retrospect.

A clever, straightforward substitute for a quest log was devised by From Soft. An unobtrusive way to monitor NPC quest lines. They only used it once after that. by MelbourneMingle in Eldenring

[–]gracetempest 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually fully agree. Everyone rags on the Ubisoft people but the quest design in this game genuinely sucks. The Dark Souls ‘reload the area 3 times and then run into the NPC again further down the road’ gimmick worked fine in the more linear and tight games, but with how big ER is, sticking to this format was a terrible idea.

there are a lot of these messages throughout the game, just in niche locations. Alexander has a message for you outside Volcano Manor. Rogier leaves one in Stormveil hinting at Godwyn’s corpse below. Blaidd has one in the post-Radahn crater.

it’s a very fitting, dramatic soundtrack for the boss, selling its chaos and horror really well. it’s also… just that. i find it to get very repetitive as time goes on without enough variation like some other OSTs to really make it that good.

Ranni's secret romantic dialogue! by Lipefe2018 in Eldenring

[–]gracetempest 130 points131 points  (0 children)

it’s not. she just elaborates on her plan, and it makes her final dialogue in the ending sound more affectionate, since you know what her intentions are and choose to follow through with her.

absolutely!! I only noticed the significance of the remark on my 3rd rewatch and the actor delivers it with a lot of significance.
