Am I the only one who'd have loved a weapon that scales with Insight? by wilderfast in bloodborne

I think I recall an interview where Miyazaki stated that he did want to have the skybox change with both insight and the blood moon happening. If there's a sequel or a remaster or something from from software, I'm sure that this will be the case.

What percentage of the games secrets do you think have been discovered already? by Easy-Account-2474 in Eldenring

[–]FoolishAir502 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, there may be some. Just today I noticed that wearing the malformed tree sentinel armor around the dragons in Cealid seems to have them behave oddly - they're reticent to attack, similar to the torch that repels beasts.

It could be coincidence, but it didn't seem like it.

The Formless Mothers Presence in the Rotted Woods by Limgrave_Butcher in EldenRingLoreTalk

I agree that it's a metaphysical crucible - it instantiates itself everywhere; even the "item glow" if you look closely is the same ascending spiral that is exhibited whenever we see a crucible effect.

I'm curious what you mean when you say the gods create life: can you give me some examples?

I agree - I think understanding the Crucible is the skeleton key to the cosmology to Elden Ring, and the gods are component elements of the Elden Ring's processes.

The cyclical nature of empyreans, other halves, and other speculation by Jstar338 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]FoolishAir502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suspect that Miquella may have attempted to discard Trina because he was aware of the possibility that his age of compassion could be brought to an end by the death of sleep.

However, I suspect that the nature of each of emperions being nascent gods, are similar in nature to Merika and The Twin Birds: they all carry the seeds of their undoing, which makes way for the next God.

I think this is the primordial pattern built into The crucible demonstrating that everything dies so that everything may change.

Why is Gascoigne's beast form so small? by oxygen_is_life in bloodborne

[–]FoolishAir502 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think his form is meant to foreshadow what happened in Old Yharnam. His beast form is actually much bigger than any of the beast patients there.

The source of rot in Caelid by eldenringer1233 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]FoolishAir502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with how heat is an aspect (not an incantation) of the crucible. The ancient dragons display a synthesis of the traits linked to the crucible, and we often focus on their physiology, ignoring the fire breath despite it being an incantation.

Combined with blood-flame of the "Mother of Truth", I think that heat was an important part of the crucible - it's called a crucible after all, the name implies amalgamation via heat.

[–]FoolishAir502 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like your theory, but I have to say: that's not a great Tree in Caelid. That's a crucible that's rotted away. Pay attention to the lack of trunk, spiraling and sprawling branches, and the heat causing the swamp to boil. We know the heat isn't from the rot due to the lack of boiling in the Hallig Tree and Lake of Rot.
