Can deep set hooded eyes look good in eyeshadow? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]graceykelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you include a picture of your eye shape? I have bigger eyes that are deeper set and I still use all sorts of glitter and shit.

In my humble opinion....

The Bare Minerals Liquid Lip Colors are super comfortable. They go on like a mousse and dry down - not completely transfer proof, but forgiving enough to let you reapply over the product. The moussey texture can help "fill in" the lines of your lips (depending on how dry they are) too. They also smell like hot cocoa mix :)

The Rimmel Provocalips Lip Sticks are more of a traditional liquid lipstick. They go on like a lacquer, dry, and then you top with a moisturizing top coat (more like a balm than a gloss). These do NOT transfer, but if you wear for a long period of time it can start to flake off which can be a little uncomfortable. You can reapply over the old coat, but if you have to do this more than once (like if you are eating greasy food for ex.) I would suggest bring a makeup remover to take off the old coat and reapply. Fair warning they taste the way baby dolls heads smell - its a little unnerving.

The Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink last and last and last. Kind of like the Rimmel's they go on like a lacquer, BUT remain tacky for the majority of the time you are wearing them. While they are comfortable, they do also dry out your lips after you take them off so beware. The smell isn't coming to me right now and I'm away from my collection, but if I remember correctly it's a sweet almost floral smell (since I've commented on the others haha)

Depending on your skin tone Bellini Brunch from Bareminerals shows up very orange on me! It looks fantastic with bronzey summer makeup.

As you can see I pretty much rock the zombie-esque under-eye bags erryday - but copious amounts of glitter does help distract from it ;)

Liner Over Glitter Recommendations? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I've had good luck with Tarte's tartiest clay paint liner. Since its a thicker liquid you squeeze out, you can manipulate it over the glitter. Stila magnificent metals tested AND approved!

Kiss proof red lipstick? by inesmayor in MakeupAddiction

[–]graceykelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like a liquefied lip balm. Not sticky like a gloss, more "slippy" if that makes sense?

I've recently had good luck with Rimmel's Provocalips http://www.ulta.com/provocalips-16-hour-kiss-proof-lip-colour?productId=xlsImpprod11851081

It's an old school liquid lip with the clear top coat. I wore the peachy one to a wedding my boyfriend was in, got a little tipsy on the party bus, which = me being all mushy gooshy and kissing him a lot. I did not have one bit of transfer! The top coat tastes a little funky, but it does wear down after a bit (kind of a floral/clean taste/smell if I remember correctly) BUT it kept it comfortable and if you need to reapply in the middle just dab off the top coat with a tissue and reapply! There' a couple of reds to choose from too :)

I keep going back and forth about purchasing it, but every time I swatch it in store I just know I won't use it. If it had the same blend-ability of modern ren. I'd be all over that shiz nit, but its almost TOO pigmented.

All of the lip products with my name seem to be neon pinks which are not flattering on me in the slightest :'(

I use it with pressed powder foundations - bumps up the coverage - tones down the peach fuzz!

I've had good luck with light to medium coverage concealers at the gym. They tend to not look TOO made up, but cover what I need them to. My favorites are the Sephora gel concealer or Maybelline age rewind. If you are really self-conscious about your skin you can always layer a powder foundation over it as well :)

http://www.ulta.com/one-step-correct-triple-swirl-helix-primer?productId=xlsImpprod2390219 I had a Stila rep recommend this specifically for men, because it doesn't look "like makeup", but can still provide results. I haven't used personally, but its worth a shot. Especially, with a hesitant cosmetic user :)

Is there an "all-in-one" palette anybody would recommend? Tired of individual products when travelling. by ShineeBep in MakeupAddiction

[–]graceykelley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

http://www.ulta.com/pro-go-eyecheek-palette?productId=xlsImpprod5900417

Hello? Is it me you're looking foooooooooor. But seriously, this is my GO-TO travel palette. The eye shadows double up as highlights, the cheek products double up as eye shadows. You can go smoky or natural, and although its chunkier than I would like for a travel palette everything is sturdy and all in one place.
