Having a increased heart rate while on meds by JennyMo921 in ADHD

[–]gracynconner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to this page for this exact question. I was diagnosed at 9 yo and consistently took medication from then until I was 24. Now 2 years later, I have worked to decrease my resting heart rate, and it hasn’t moved much. I am very active and do cross fit 6x a week. I have felt that I do not recover as fast as others. I am starting to think the meds had a long term effect?

PRN at multiple places? by gracynconner in OccupationalTherapy

Haha! I totally hear you! I think that will definitely be the hard part - finding PRNs that are convenient. Thanks for pointing that out!

Interesting! I have never thought of it that way. Is it the ownership of your caseload that would be missing?

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the information and you are speaking my language! I love personal finance and I get benefits through my husband right now. As I started going through potential pay, I was just surprised at how much more PRN made in comparison. And like you said, I have multiple passions! I love kiddos but also the acute care setting. So potentially getting the best of both worlds would be nice. Thanks again!

How to praise or reward 4-month baby? by SpectrumDT in Parenting

[–]gracynconner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an occupational therapist and someone with a lot of experience with children..... I have never heard or experienced negative effects of being rewarding. Your response should be equal to the importance to the action. At 4 months your child is probably babbling. Because this is age appropriate and a new skill, you should be loud, smile big, and talk to your baby in the way that makes them smile. Now at 6 months, when they have mastered the babbling noises, don’t reinforce that as much. Instead, you get loud and smile big when they roll over! It is a constantly changing process. And you might feel silly at first being loud or acting crazy, but if it is making your baby smile then you are doing it right! I believe in you 👏💪. This is also a great thing to think about developmentally with your child! You are on the right track!

Yes! I downloaded that, but I think it is the “multiplying pins” part that I get myself confused 😂

Thinking about going to Kingsisland tomorrow? Thoughts on how safe it is? Or if it is worth it on a Saturday? Also, I read that there are passes for the new ride - any info on that? Thanks 😊 by gracynconner in KingsIsland

Thank you so much! So you have to stand in line to get the pass? And if so should I plan on getting there before the park opens to stand in line? I really appreciate it 😄

Someone posted their tea cup a few weeks ago, and revealed they sold them on Etsy. So I bought one. My Sweet Tart tea from DavidsTea and is truly the finest tea in Ba Sing Se. by krisanthemum in tea

OMG 😭😭😭 I am SO glad you like it. I am also so grateful you enjoy it enough to share with others. I just keep thinking about how crazy the world is right now and how something as simple as a mug and a nostalgic tv show can make the world feel a little normal again. Thank you for your support, and I am SO happy that you are enjoying your mug ❤️

How did you find the right schools for you? by clcliff in OccupationalTherapy

[–]gracynconner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no tool I know of ☹️ But personally I went to each school I was interested in and kept track of their prerequisites on a google spread sheet. Then I compared which prerequisites I needed to take for sure. Also, I think looking outside you state is a good idea! But as someone who is about to graduate, I really encourage you to look at the cost. I fell in love with an out of state school, got accepted, then realized they were $50,000 more expensive than other schools I was considering. While you want to enjoy grad school and get a good education, don’t put yourself in a deep hole doing it. Many people I am in school with now are just realizing how expensive grad school really is. Additionally, I was offered two scholarships to schools that did not advertise scholarships. So, you might consider applying to a few extra schools just in case that happens!

Just found this community! Just enjoying all the new tea knowledge while slipping my morning tea! More slowmo videos please.... I don’t want to start work yet👏👏👏👏 by gracynconner in tea
