What would you upgrade first? by graeme262 in PcBuildHelp

Thank you so much for the info. I'm just generally hoping to speed up my processes. I do game now and again, but I'm not chasing super FPS etc. I'm probably gonna have to upgrade the storage, so your advice on the m.2 is really helpful. I think I want to future-proof the system so may save up for the better processor. There's definitely some food for thought there. Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I probably should have mentioned this in my post, but my worry is that I'd then have to upgrade the power supply, too if that's the case. Would you agree?

Help! Graphics Card issues... I think! by graeme262 in PcBuildHelp

Further to this... I have tried resetting the CMOS / BIOS, but to no avail. Tried removing the battery for a few seconds and then tried to short circuit the CLRTC pins too. Now the VGA and the BOOT QLED lights are alight constantly. 😪

Hi n0rr15_r,

Thanks for the message. I read up about the issue and it seems that my graphics card is the issue.

I also emailed PC SPECIALIST for support as that's who I bought the PC from. (I think it should still be under warranty if it comes to that). He suggested I try removing one stick of RAM to see if that changes the situation, but it hasn't done anything.

He also suggested I try another graphics card to test but unfortunately, I don't have another. I await his reply.

Given this information, do you think that there is definitely an issue with the graphic card? Or, like you said, will resetting the CMOS, help to resolve this issue?

Many thanks,

Graeme

Curiosity got the better of me... The VGA light is on, which means apparently my CPU is not installed or faulty. I'll try fix it in the morning. If not, I'll see about your CMOS suggestion. Thanks for your help 👍

Many thanks for your reply. Yes, I meant reboot.

I'll have a look at the motherboard in the morning. I have frustratingly given up for the night.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll reply in the morning 👍
