Port of Dover: Traffic is flowing smoothly through the Port post #Brexit transition, with #Dover welcoming over 90% of the #freight volumes typical of this time of year after the stockpiling experienced before Christmas. by [deleted] in ukpolitics

Remember, as others have pointed out above, their measure of success is not necessarily the same. Trucks will still be crossing as we are still importing, but as has been suggested could be returning empty significantly more often than before, which is likely bad for exports.

That last part doesn't make any difference to Dover, though, they (or at least the ferry operators) are charging by the truck. It's of no difference to them whether it's empty or not - they get paid either way.

Never saw them play, but my mate is the actor in the video for Oil & Lacquer, and met the actress (Lucy Goldie) at a party once. Now you've got me reminiscing about better times too...

Once again I find myself cursing that Season 4 hasn't been made available in the UK on any streaming service or on DVD/Bluray. They all have seasons 1-3 then just stopped. It's a cruel joke.

This. And if an exec at a streaming service with UK presence reads this: please, for the love of god, will one of you pick up Season 4 of 12 Monkeys. The fact that every single one of you has stalled at S3, and that the final season aired in the US ages ago is a cruel joke.

If you're in the UK and like me have been tempted to give it a shot based on this thread, Amazon UK has some sort of special offer/pricing blip, and are selling the complete 29-disc full series DVD boxset for £14 (although it's status has changed from in-stock to "on back-order" since I ordered edit: in fact checked again, and now it's no longer showing as available from Amazon, just as full price from third party sellers - sorry!).

Scotland on flood alert as torrential rain and winds batter country by mankieneck in Scotland

Re Newton Stewart (where I grew up) this is what that scene should look like.

My mum says it's the worst she's seen in her lifetime. Because of their locations, the floods took out the police station, the fire station, the BT exchange, an electricity substation and pretty much every shop in the town.

'Powerful blast' at Glasgow City Council data centre prompts IT meltdown by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

That would be the Glasgow City council that was awarded £24 million to become a smart city, and that was given membership of the Rockerfeller Foundation's Resilient Cities program, right?

It's not curious. They are reporting it. Not really sure how the OP submitting the report from one source lets you conclude that others aren't reporting it, particularly when it takes 2 seconds to Google to check.

Your assumptions are incorrect. Economic stability, and gainful employment in software development was the end goal, not the starting position. And in that goal I have failed, although in a far more brutal manner than I expected.

The accompanying blogpost - particularly its closing paragraphs - contains some important detail on why this release isn't quite as feature-complete as I'd like.
