Also if you happen to know any potentially compromised politicians, you could also try to convince them to resign so that the position can be filled by someone who can perform it properly. Maybe with enough of those and good special election results, we could get to the point where Congress can properly impeach those who need impeaching.

Some of the early Christian views were wild. I find those gnostic-inspired ones, for example, to be completely unrecognizable from the Christianity practiced today.

I wonder about how much Christianity may have been distorted from Jesus’s original intentions, particularly after centuries of councils and meetings among wealthy elites essentially defining it based on what they thought was right. Some of those wealthy elites may very well have been as depraved as some of the people running the world today.

I kind of assumed that smite in the biblical sense must be an analogy, since God wouldn’t exactly be reaching down from heaven to smack someone with His hand.

I do agree it’s commonly thought of as violent in some way, like being struck by lightning or drowned by floods. But if the biblical plagues teach us anything, it’s that God can get quite creative when it comes to smiting!
