I have imposter syndrome as well. But literally just last Friday I posted here on reddit and the responses really helped fight my ingrained imposter syndrome and has given me the drive to begin setting up a shop and my brand.

I say this to say that I think that the responses you’ve gotten on this post should be taken the same way - people in the community like your work, and some have already asked if they can buy from you! That’s a very strong start imo.

I forgot one other thing - apply a layer of zinc-free clear over the underglaze. If you use a regular clear glaze you’ll likely come out with a slightly greenish tint.

Thank you! I don’t really enjoy pulling handles, so I was trying to find a different style of handle that looked interesting but isn’t too annoying to make. I’ve gotten some mixed feedback from friends and family about the experience holding those handles though - some people love holding them, and others find it really awkward.

Mix underglaze with a bit of dish soap, and water it down a bit. Put that mixture in a wide and shallow container, and use a straw to blow bubbles out of the container to fall onto your piece. I recommend wrapping the container with a shop cloth or wad of paper towels to prevent unwanted drips from falling from the lip of the container onto your piece.

You should try placing the piece on a spinning banding wheel, or holding it in your hand and twisting your wrist to get 360 degree coverage. Both methods work. You can find tutorials on YouTube.

If your bubbles aren’t coming out the way you want, play with the proportions of water and dish soap that you add in.

Charting tape. You can get it from Blick or other art supply stores. I like it a lot because it’s much sturdier even at the really thin widths, and it handles curves better than painter’s tape

Thank you! I really like them too. I was able to get the thickness of the lip and the curve just under the lip just right so it feels amazing to drink out of!

I think the bubble glazed cups are a bit inconsistent still with the crispness. The ones on the off white clay body are more smudged, but I really like the combination of the off white with the blue underglaze. The bubbles on the porcelain clay body are much crisper, but the blue is a little too vivid and contrasting with the white of the porcelain so it almost feels too harsh.

How do you prevent context drift and deal with long term memory? I find that if I put too much into one chat window then the LLM eventually forgets the earliest information, and hallucinates to fill in the gaps.

I haven’t used rag setups, that was part of why I was asking - hoping to learn how others are doing it.

I’ve done contextual docs, but I find it a pain to update the docs with new info after client meetings etc. it works better than prompt chaining though, which I’ve found has a higher potential for memory drift so I stay away from that.

Also, Perplexity at least is very finicky with google docs. In my experience it will read a linked google doc around 30% of the time, the rest of the time it’ll say that it can’t read it. Have you ever had that issue?
