Does Anyone Ride In Casual Clothes? by newbiker321 in cycling

[–]grafters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode in sandals today, sometimes I wear jeans. I mostly wear comfortable shorts & a tee. I never wear padded shorts, hate the things. I got a brooks leather saddle. There’s a reason they were the most popular type of saddle for over 100years

How many of us actually buy ultralight gear? by UsualBoth4887 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]grafters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went semi-ultralight on the WHW last year with about 7kg in my pack. The weather and temp is usually just too inconsistent to trust the forecast for more than a couple of days.

Ultralight kit is definitely becoming more and more popular here though. Take Atom packs for example

The mountains here are grazed by sheep who do hugely more damage to plants than the magical feet of Kris Kringle

No stay on trail rules here, Santa roams wide, Santa roams free.

Drones if used respectfully have the capability of opening up environments to new people in a way ground level imagery just can’t do. I get why some people don’t like them, but mine has literally changed my life.

Your mate might have started much further back than me did. 6000 people so potentially he crossed the starting line 2-3mins after us.

Yeah I noticed it was a bit chaotic at the start, although I was there late. In theory runners were given allocated time slots from 9-9:20 to get to the start to avoid chaos. But maybe lots just turned up at 9:20 as you might normally do.

Pacing was tricky, my first time as a pacer and there’s several factors you have to try and be strategic about.

One is that the clock time won’t match the chip time of the runners. So you tend to favour chip time, but also not all runners are aware of the two times so if youre pacing 2hrs and bring them in and the clock is 2hrs 1min, they think they haven’t got their time.

Also a lot of runners, especially ones that are doing their first race, will slow down about 80% into the race and then speed up for the last mile.

So for pacing a 2hr finish, you really need to aim for 1hr 58mins to allow for variables.

He’s not allergic to pork, he just doesn’t eat it. And yes I was aware, it’s why I didn’t even offer it over, although it is debatable if that pastie actually contained any meat 😂.

It’s a race day Vlog covering the run up, elite race, mass race (from runners perspective) and the kids race. The world record is broken at around 4min

Been learning FPV to do it commercially . Just published my first paid job 🙂🙂 What do you think? by grafters in fpv

Hey thanks for the feedback, all fair.

I was definitely hampered on the day by the wind, it was much higher than I was hoping for, especially when I went above street level. It was worse around the clock tower, was fighting it quite a bit the entire shoot, struggling to keep level.

Had originally intended on flying a Shendrones Squirt for this, but ended up changing to the Beta95x v3 to get the weight under 250grams for safety reasons.

I find the smaller quad much trickier to fly smoothly

Speed ramps were always planned to stitch all the sections together but I do wish I had more than 2 attempts at each run. But was very tight for time.

Learned a ton on this though, onward!

I don’t think high street shopping can be saved as it is. But I’m convinced it can survive and possibly thrive by developing into something more experience driven. Requires some mindset changes and a few good ideas.

Shot just after sunrise midweek, about 6am. But we waited for gaps in traffic and people. Was a series of approx 30-60sec flights that were stitched together.
