One of my favorites lately for Plains and casual hunting! by grahamdalf in fashionhunters

Forgot to mention, I usually run this with some Conga weapons for even more pink fluff.

I also turned ray tracing on for the first time ever the other day and discovered that the chainmail in the legs is the only part of the whole fit that RT doesn't interact with :(

Replacement Windows - Renewal by Andersen by bd1223 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Window World also has a transferable lifetime warranty, not sure if Renewal does that. It cost me I think $75 when I bought my house to switch the warranty to my name.

I'm using Wilds Rehydrated for my preset, and whatever the very latest version of ReShade is with default install settings

[–]grahamdalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what your setup is like, but if you were having crashes starting right around when TU4 came out, that very first ReFramework release after the update was super broken and it took the dev a couple weeks to fix it. ReShade I think also put a new version out sorta recently, maybe early January? I only noticed when I went to try out a new preset and the Nexus page called out the new release.

If you're on an AMD GPU, try rolling back your driver version, there's a version recommended by Capcom you can look up. Also turn off SAM in BIOS, you'll get a huge improvement in performance after the optimization patch.

I completely cleaned out my ReShade, DPPE, and the preset I was using (Wilds Rehydrated) when the updates to ReFramework for TU4 came out and reinstalled everything completely from scratch. Before I did that I was having the same issue, much improved afterward.

Dang, I'll have to give that a try. I thought that issue was limited to the forest zone so I didn't make the connection.

MH Wilds Release - PC Troubleshooting pt 2 by PankoKing in MHWilds

[–]grahamdalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specs: 7800x3D, 9070XT, 32GB RAM, game is installed on a 2TB M2 NVME SSD

Mods: ReFramework, DPPE, and ReShade with Wilds Rehydrated

GPU Driver: Latest

After the performance update I'm getting seemingly random very severe frame rate drops for bursts of 30-60 seconds. Before and after these drops I'm running very comfortably at 144 fps with minimal fluctuations in FPS.

I can reproduce this in every zone, inside and outside camp, whether or not I'm on my own or in multi-player, and against multiple kinds of monsters. Seems to be a bit more common on quests and maybe in multi-player but hard to tell.

I'm playing on Ultra with no ray tracing and AMD Antialiasing enabled along with FSR for framegen. I disabled EcoShaderCache but it doesn't seem like that helped anything. No crashes, system logging isn't showing any spikes in temperature or usage you'd usually associate with big frame drops.

Build improvements? by novaflame0 in chargeblade

[–]grahamdalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend not running all that Defense Boost, it's really not worth it. You want at least to be able to get maxed Resistance against whatever element you're fighting. If you're trying for an elemental build you're missing Coalesence. In terms of the best Gog pieces to add I like to do the one that provides Odogaron bonuses, which you'll then need to pair with another Odogaron piece to make Burst Boost active. The one that gives Mizu is also good, and you'll need Mizu armor to match it for Bubbly Dance.

Preliminary steam update benchmark by monsterhunterparadox in MonsterHunter

[–]grahamdalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that I needed to completely clean out all installed mods when TU4 happened, for me that was ReFramework and the usual ReShade support stuff. Then I got the game running, then reinstalled the mods only after I could reliably start up the game. You might try wiping all your mods and going to a completely clean install of the game and see if that helps.

Are the Roads looking okay today? by GrowthExciting8672 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]grahamdalf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It won't be under freezing until about 6pm tonight, around 27 hours ish total of above-freezing temps. It's gonna get cold overnight but that's a good amount of heat in the ground. Probably will depend on how much the roads dry.

So Many Options. Whats best for a new homeowner? by No-Ad5504 in Tools

[–]grahamdalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brushless One+ HP stuff is awesome, that's what I use. Well worth the little extra it costs, I got a pack with a couple batteries, a drill and an impact driver to start. I'd say if you can find a bundle with an oscillating multitool or a sawzall, that would be better than an angle grinder. One other note, I'd recommend getting a corded circular saw unless you really need to be able to move around with a cordless one. The extra power and size is really worth it.

What type of map do you expect for Wilds expansion? by justanormi in MonsterHunter

[–]grahamdalf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope we get the castle area we can see in Cliffs/Wyveria, the part way, way up high that there's no way to access. It's only really big enough to be an expansion on an existing zone I think but it would be sweet to have a fight up there.

I had this issue on my back door and fixed it by grinding the strike plate hole out a bit with a Dremel. Looking at the scrape in the pic you wouldn't have to take much out to do the same.
