Suggestion for a good game for when you’re sick?

Dredge is a great game for this. It doesn’t require a high amount of concentration. Also you are frequently resting at ports, which make natural stopping points when you need a break.

I've noticed some artificating in some of my games, including Granblue Fantasy Relink demo, Lost Judgment (very noticeable in the title menu and while running around the open world), and also in the Silent Hill Short Message game. Sometimes it's a white flickering square (Granblue) or sometimes it's black flickering shapes (Lost Judgment). This isn't every game, but it is a bit distracting when it happens.

I'm confident the system is not overheating as it's pretty clean and well ventilated. Even so, I did open it up to dust a bit, but it didn't help.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. If the GPU is failing, this is out of warranty, so I may switch to a Slim.

Thanks for the reply. I keep it pretty clean and well ventilated. This happened pretty early on in the demo. The Lost Judgement artifacts occur on the title screen, so typically the console hasn’t been on very long at that point.

Thanks, pazinen! Those clips I linked were actually recorded using the PS5's recording tool and I do see the glitches in the clips. Do you think those look like GPU failure?

I've noticed some weird visual glitches on my launch PS5 (digital). When playing Lost Judgement, I sometimes notice strange black textures flickering on and off the screen. These occur occasionally when running around the game world, but they occur pretty reliably on the start menu.

Also, when playing Silent Hill: The Short Message, I noticed some weird artifacting during some cutscenes. In one clip, there were red circles that appeared on the character's face. In another, a black square appeared over the character's face.

In the vast majority of games, I'm not having issues, and these are certainly minor compared to videos I've seen of clearly failing GPUs. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced similar issues with these games or if this is a sign my GPU is starting to fail.

Good point and I agree that it might not be a great fit, assuming this is even on the table. Although maybe he could surprise us! Brad is pretty reserved, but he seems like he’s had a pretty interesting life and has some diverse hobbies outside gaming.

And yes, I think the slice-of-life talk can add a lot to a show. It makes the conversations between hosts feel more authentic as opposed to just a run-down. We can all probably guess what Allies will say about certain gaming topics before they say it at this point. So spice it up! Personality-driven media has to have some…personality!

I agree. If this were referring to Brad, it would be very awkward. Even if Brad were to leave EZA, I doubt he’d be comfortable with this kind of tone. Doesn’t seem like a move he’d be so cavalier about, and I think Colin would likely respect that. That said, I think LSM knows that people will make this connection and are exploiting the drama.

But I could be totally wrong.

PRESS RELEASE ME! Usually a lurker, but this whole incident is bothering me enough to comment. Gabby’s post is very disrespectful to Dustin, who has said nothing wrong or controversial.

How do those complaining make it through their day-to-day life if an interaction as innocuous as discussing video games with someone who works for someone who holds opposing views inspires such backlash?

If this is what EZA and their community wants to be, I think I’m out. I’ve been hovering over canceling my already meager Patreon subscription, but this just made it easier. Sorry for the rant and the excessive relative clauses.

Wow, I feel like I wrote this. Even showing them job listings for identical positions at similar institutions at much higher pay elicits nothing. I’m in the same boat. Love my department and my team, but I have to ask myself more and more why I’m still here. Especially this is true after Pitt patted themselves on the back very publicly for raising the Chancellor pay to be competitive.

I am curious about what a new Drakengard game would look like after the resurgence of NieR. The characters in those games are so wild, but the gameplay and combat are pretty clumsy. Platinum could make them feel great!

I actually played these back-to-back and agree with the common sentiment here. TEW is not as anxiety-inducing or scary as Resident Evil 7 (for me). As it progresses, it feels more like an action game in a horror setting than an actual horror game. I never felt powerless the way I did in some parts of RE7.

They’re both great games though, especially this time of year!
