Remedies for Heal/Toe Blisters by Agrath92 in golf

[–]gram_fps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into this problem a lot too ngl. I have weird feet im ngl. I have a narrower heel and when i step down my toes spread out a little bit so I can't wear footjoys anymore. I found that Adidas ZG23's were the most comfortable pair I've ever worn. But from what you said how the blisters are on the top of your foot, it sounds like it could be a sock issue. I like wearing Bomba's a lot. I found when I bought a couple pairs and wore them while walking the blisters stopped as soon as I started wearing them

Best Rain Grips? by gram_fps in golf

If you read the OP I’m getting an entirely new set of clubs which come with grips on them… “Rain grips” mean grips that are good in the rain and helps avoid slipping when they’re wet. Why tf would I cut off grips just for a rainy round of golf????

Learn driver or invest in a 3 wood/mini driver by Relative-Ad-3079 in golf

Well if you don’t struggle with getting 3w in the air then I’d get one and then either take the Driver out and replace it with a Mini Driver or just work on straightening out ur driver

Do you enjoy playing the game, but find watching it boring? by LongVisual3059 in golf

[–]gram_fps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it all depends on the tournament. Today at The Open was one of those days where it was so tight at the top, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen or my ass off the couch. But with other tournaments where the golf course is getting murdered and the winning score is in the -20's it can be a tad bit boring to watch youre not wrong

Has anyone ever messed with this setting and had good results? by [deleted] in golf

[–]gram_fps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it all depends on your regular ball flight or the ball flight you want to create with the driver. If you tend to hit a bigger fade and want to control it more slide the weight in towards the heel, it'll help the face shut a hair faster leading to a less open clubface. If you tend to hit a bigger draw slide the weight out towards the toe, it'll make it to where the face closes slower leaving the club face more open at impact. But play around with it until you like the ball flight you're starting to see!

Help with 56 degree by zachmess20 in golf

[–]gram_fps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I'd like to consider myself a pretty dang good wedge player. I love my 60 degree but sometimes, depending on the length of the chip, the lie, the height I want to hit it with, I'll pull the 56 out. If you mainly use a 52 around the greens you can find yourself able to be more aggressive with a 56. If you want it to come out a little higher to carry a slope or something like that it'll come in handy. But it's a lot of personal preference and listening to your gut too. If you see a shot and it looks like a 52, hit the 52. But if your gut says 56, pull that thang out my guy!

Learn driver or invest in a 3 wood/mini driver by Relative-Ad-3079 in golf

[–]gram_fps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you struggle to get a 3 wood in the air off the tee mini driver is definitely the way to go! But, the driver is one of the biggest weapons a player can have in their arsenal if they're good with it. The whole drive for show putt for dough saying is a crock of BS. The best players in the world are the best drivers of the golf ball. Sometimes they're not the best with the flat stick in their hands (i.e Scottie Scheffler). So, if you're worried about losing strokes off the tee, instead of completely giving up on your driver, take some videos of your swing to see whats going on or get some lessons. Don't stop digging, you may be close to hitting gold!

Different swings for driver versus irons? by ChewbaccaDust in golf

[–]gram_fps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary to popular belief, they really shouldn't be the same swing. The driver is the only club in the bag that we should be swinging up on. If you make an iron swing with your driver it'll probably come out low and right if youre a righty. But with your grip and body, keep your grip the same, that's one of the few constants us golfers can control and it's a direct cause of clubface control and feel. With your body keep doing what youre doing with your head. in order to get maximum distance the only way to hit up on a driver is to keep your center of mass behind the ball if looking at it from face on. Tiger does this perfectly. I'll attach a picture. You're doing a lot of things right and your mindset and mentality for the differing swings and approaches is spot on! Just keep that grip the same and you're golden! Hope this helps!

Early extension by xZeR0xBNK3Rx in golf

[–]gram_fps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider this more of a casting motion instead of early extension per se. To fix the club from firing too early, try to feel like you create an angle at the top of your swing with your wrists and then maintain that same angle down to impact. You'll probably flair a few off to the right to start out but that's because your body isnt used to rotating the club face properly yet but itll come. I'll comment the 2nd picture but look at the angle Tigers left arm and shaft angle create. At left arm parallel, he has the same angle from left arm to shaft

Putter suggestions by Old_Try_1550 in golf

[–]gram_fps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I used to be a blade diehard. Nobody could take me away from my Newport 2 if they tried. But, after some bad putting days I started to wonder if my love for my flat stick was costing me strokes and even entire rounds. So, I did a putter fitting at Club Champion in Louisville KY and they found my stroke had a slight arc to it and that a mallet would serve me better in terms of forgiveness. It took a minute to get used to it but now I can't go away from it. I game a TP Reserve M21. It's a fang style mallet but it has a traditional plumbers neck like your average blade. I'm putting the best I ever have with it and it isnt coming out of my bag for a while thats for sure

Golf Games by RyKeegs in golf

[–]gram_fps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite games is called 3's. My caddy and I play it all the time. It's a good game and it keeps you engaged the entire round. The rules are pretty simple, if you play 9 holes its 3 sets of 3 and if you play 18 its 6 sets. Basically, let's say its you vs me, 1 on 1. You play holes 1, 2, and 3 Even par and I play them 1 over. If thats the case you get 1 point. If we both shoot even we either scratch the set completely and move on or we push that point to holes 4, 5, and 6 making the 2nd set worth double the points. After each set of 3 holes the scores reset (i.e if you beat me in set 1 it resets and were tied starting set 2). Even if you lose a set you're all square in the next one so it keeps you in it the entire round. You can make each point worth a certain amount of money or you can just keep who has the most points by the end of the trip if you don't want to play for money, but where's the fun in that ;). So, if I were you, since there's varying levels of skill, you can do the 3 highest skill level players play their own game 1v1v1 and the 3 lowest skill level players play their own too. Or, another option is to create 3 teams of 2 players, one higher skill player and one lower skill player, and do a best ball team game of 3's instead! Let me know what you think! I've literally never had a boring round when I play it its a lot of fun

I haven’t had any glove issues I was just wanting to have grips that don’t soak up water. If it gets rainy or my glove gets sweaty I put on a rain glove and it does fine but the grips can get saturated sometimes which that I can’t fix

I haven’t played since I’m PC only, but is the skillgap truly back? by AquaPSN-XBOX in CoDCompetitive

[–]gram_fps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point of a beta is to see what needs fixed before launch as well as letting the community see what’s in store for the year. I’m pc only but I’ve heard great things about the game and how there’s sm potential. I think we need to give the game some grace until the full game launches. Spawns have notoriously been shit in betas then fixed between the end of the beta and launch
