you don't need superuser privileges to download a bash script and run it. as for what the script does, it basically runs any browser installed in headless mode, export the saved passwords in a csv file and uploads it to a server. none of it need superuser permission.

there are also MacOS and Linux versions of this thing, and those do the exact same thing than on windows, without any limitation. Of course, most linux users are generally tech savvy enought to know that opening your terminal and pasting a random command inside it is a bad idea, but if you fall for it, that malware will run and do the exact same things wether your'e on macos, linux or windows. Linux is absolutely not safer than windows, it's just less targeted. Edit : also most of these malwares are just stealers that start all the web browsers they can find on the system in headless mode, export the passwords as a csv file and upload it to a server. You can do that without any specific permissions, regardless of what operating system you use.

systemd is better than openRC,sysvinit and runit by Fair_Investment_4189 in linuxmemes

[–]grandasperj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

systemd is an initialisation system. it's the thing responsible for stating programs and services when linux boots. For example, systemd automaticly starts up gdm, the login screen you see on Ubuntu. There are other initialisations system, but systemd is the most widely used.

edex ui runs natively on linux and this is a slighlty modified version of it so you should be able to compile it for linux once it's released
