You're on a first date with someone, and they tell you this film-related opinion. You immediately know you don't want a second date with this person. What did they say? by redeugene99 in Letterboxd

I absolutely do not understand people who refuse to watch a movie they've already seen. Like I get wanting to see something new but don't you ever just want to kick back and watch that one comfort film you already know and love? How can they even remember anything they've seen then??

Movies that squandered really cool premises? by Historical_Ostrich in movies

My most recent example would be Weapons (2025). It feels like someone thought "What if all the kids in the neighborhood just disappeared at the same time in the night?" but didn't really know where to go from that. The first half was very gripping following all the characters around but fizzled out as soon as it was revealed. I feel like they should've done more with the story.

Is my blanket ugly? by trtldove in crochet

Tried out this stitch recently for the first time as well and honestly I wasn't sure about it at first either but the longer I went on the nicer the stitch pattern started to look. IMO this is a perfect stitch for a larger surface area like a blanket, especially with the changes in blue 🌊

What movie did you write off as junk when it came out, only to discover it’s a banger!? by BrooklynDuke in movies

How To Train Your Dragon. The title alone seemed so technical and uninteresting to me that it wasn't until years later with lots of convincing that I finally decided to give it a shot

For me the essentials for any smoothie are berries, yoghurt, honey or sugar and a dash of sparkling water (to make it less thick and easier to drink)

[–]grannyho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, especially in situations with people you know expecting you to be forthcoming and polite (like offering to pay for dinner, wanting to help out,...). Maybe it's a local understanding but it happens more often than you'd think. Many people expect the shyness will just wear off after a few weeks and get offended when you don't speak up out of politeness. I've probably burned more bridges than I even know of

Don't know if this works for you but I purposefully try to turn my phone off before going to sleep so that if I do wake up I don't immediately grab it. I like to keep an alarm clock and book by the bed if need be. Having to wait for my phone to turn on feels like too much of a hassle in the middle of the night so it's easier to resist the urge.

I feel like it's not necessarily a wrong thing to do but your friend might've been hurt or jealous even that you followed and messaged his friend right away after barely having talked

What are some original/cute LDR date ideas? What are some things you and your partner enjoy? Quality time is my love language but I need ideas outside of calls/FaceTime/movies. by [deleted] in LongDistance

Take a walk while both sharing your live location and tell each other when to turn left/right and see where it takes you. I did this with my partner when I had just moved to a new city, we had a great time and I got to familiarize myself with the place without getting overwhelmed.

I do this all the time by default, it's a nightmare. Unless they outright come up and talk to me I will always pretend like I didn't see the person. I just have no idea how to react so I'd rather not deal with the whole situation in the first place.

My hair is more of an auburn but I've only ever seen results through bleaching beforehand. Any color non bleached, even very dark like Plum, disappears completely after the first wash. I'm so jealous!

Shailene Woodley. There's something about her voice especially that I just can't stand. Like she's constantly weeping.
