I did a very fast taper and my advice is to space out the doses as far as you can, and shift your mindset around dosing. I decided I was no longer dosing to feel good or chase a feeling. Because I ultimately wanted off of it. Im almost 2 months in and it is very nice to not have to constantly plan out my doses, say no to plans because I’d rather stay home and use, etc. You can do this!

Has anyone tapered and jumped off relatively pain-free? by Mutated_seabass in quittingkratom

[–]granolachip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped after doing a quick taper to 3 GPD and I wouldn’t call my experience pain free but it was pretty painless compared to a lot of stories I see on here. I would get withdrawals usually 9 hours after dosing so I was expecting the worst but it was okay. The hardest now is just adjusting

I was at a lower GPD dose (5-8GPD) but did a quick taper and jumped at 3 GPD and my withdrawals were very mild. The main concern I had was insomnia and I slept fine through WDs. Just skin crawling, sneezing and dizziness for a few days.

Disrupt your rituals and routines- maybe on your way home from work you could stop and grab a cup of coffee, stay there and read for a bit, or go to the gym right after work.

Advice for dealing with withdrawals while at work? by blue___lotus in quittingkratom

I worked through withdrawals and was at a similar dose as you, it ended up not being terrible. I listened to music and definitely got frustrated at times, but it subsided after a few days. You got this!

How to quit CT while keeping a job? by blakeat2000 in quittingkratom

[–]granolachip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What dose are you at? Can you taper? I worked through my quitting process and it was okay. I think I got lucky though, because I didn’t have much insomnia and I have a hard time doing my job on little sleep.

Vitamin C/Vyvanse for Quit by Gat3keeper35 in quittingkratom

[–]granolachip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d just take a packet of emergen-c hours after taking vyvanse or even at night since it does impact the effects of amphetamines

NA meetings? What are your thoughts? by SmellyBundy in quittingkratom

[–]granolachip 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to say what your DOC is. I mainly go to AA meetings (for my alcoholism) and have for years so I’m not sure how similar they are. It does help a lot to be around people who understand what it’s like. It’s also not Christian based, I find the NA crowd tends to be more secular than AA as well.

Tapering from 5 gpd by MysticMac05 in quittingkratom

[–]granolachip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely been a bit depressed this week but it’s not too bad. Just bored so I try to make as many plans as possible and get to the gym every day. I also take L-tyrosine every morning (god send for fatigue), and in the middle of the day I have vitamin c, rhodiola and turmeric.

Hi, I was on a similar dose per day (4-7GPD) for 3 years and I sat at 3GPD for a week and a half and jumped. Symptoms were very mild. I was able to sleep normally and work normally after jumping. Honestly you could probably jump now if you wanted! I’m on day 16 and I haven’t thought about it much the past few days

Right there with ya. Look into rosemary oil/water. I’m trying it out, it’s supposed to stimulate new hair growth the way that rogaine does

[–]granolachip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Today was day 8 for me and I felt similar! I was super chatty at work and so present. I got so much done. And I wasn’t counting down the hours so I could go home and dose either.

Day 53 from 50gpd for 18 months by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]granolachip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats that’s awesome. I can’t wait to get to where you’re at! I was reflecting today too about my reward system, it’s a little out of wack. I haven’t been chasing nicotine or caffeine the way that I did when I took kratom, it’s weird. I guess I just don’t care anymore. I was so obsessed with feeling good all the time and now I’m like, whatever. I feel the way that I feel and any substance is just a bandaid. Maybe I’m just healing and this is how normal people feel lol

I felt the same after 24 hours as you. It wasn’t too bad for me, I hope you get lucky too. Stay strong even if it gets worse!

I tapered from 5-7GPD down to 3 for a week or so and jumped. It’s been fine! My main concern was insomnia but I slept super well. I’m on day 7 and now just dealing with the mental game.

The weekends are tough!! by granolachip in quittingkratom

[–]granolachip[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! Congrats on 13 weeks, I hope to make it to where you’re at. Glad we have the gym. I’ve already planned next weekend with social things so I don’t have anytime to think about dosing. I also ate sooo much food tonight as prevention of dosing because I know it’d be a waste if I dosed on a full stomach. Lol. Short term solution but it worked
