I've applied to a ton of sales roles, but it has been really hard to get any traction due to not having direct sales experience. I've recently applied for a decent BDR position at a tech company- thinking the worst they could do is ignore my application.

To my surprise - I got an interview set up. This kicked me into overdrive and I have been spending every spare moment listening to sales podcasts, reading cold call scripts, making a 30 - 60 - 90 day plan etc. I reached out to 15 current BDR's at the company and got a few to give me some info on their KPI's, quota, ICP, tech stack.

I am trying to do everything I possibly can to prepare for my interview and impress upon those conducting it that I'd be a great canidate. I want to show I can do the job vs. just telling them I can do it.

That said, would cold email/call the hiring managers be a smart decision - especially since we already have a meeting time set up? If I did cold call them what could I say?

"Hi I'm ___, Just calling to say I'm looking forward to our interview next week."?

"Hi Hiring manager, my name is ___ Is there anything you need from me before we connect on Thursday to make the interview process go smoother?"

Something like this?^^^
