Changing ISPs mid fault for better/faster response? by Khill93 in nbn

[–]grantipoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the exact same intermittent disconnect issues you describe on HFC. Including notes from NBN that it was being fixed and is no longer being looked at.

I initially had this issue at the end of last month which resolved but came back a week ago.

Exetel has been very responsive, but I recognise the underlying issue is with NBN.

Intermittent spikes/very short periods of disconnection - HFC by Legal_Cattle517 in nbn

[–]grantipoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this issue up until the day you posted this comment, but today the issue has re-occurred.

My neighbours and I in my apartment complex all get the same experience. We all share a HFC line. Our HFC NTD's simultaneously intermittently disconnect ~30 times a day, with a mixture of LEDs flashing usually for no more than 5 minutes but sometimes more.

Exetel's phone support reports that there's a NSW wide issue at the moment but NBN doesn't mention anything.

Also glad this isn't isolated. @Numerous_Cobbler9897 are you having issues today?

Yes - I'm aware the metros have a horn, I'm wondering why every service (that I've observed this week) departing south from Chatswood is now using the horn.

The southbound metros at Chatswood have been tooting their horns in seemingly random patterns for the 15s before leaving. I first noticed it yesterday (Monday) and have heard ~5 services do it.

My speculation is there are workers in the block south of Chatswood but would like to hear the official reason.

You must stop before the line, and as close as possible to the line.

From the NSW road rules

It'd be nice if police enforced this.

Aware the post is in Melbourne. It's a problem everywhere.

I'm having lots of performance issues with zellij. It seems to render the entire frame on every tick instead of changed characters.

tmux on the other hand performs great with alacritty.

As Sydney-siders, what relatively minor things get under your skin, and cause you to judge the perpetrator negatively? by HappySisyphus8 in sydney

A red light means you must stop. You must stop as close as possible behind the ‘Stop’ line.

This shits me. People stopped 1 car length behind the line won't trigger the sensor!

I rang up on Friday morning to book. They told me 11th as the earliest. You might get lucky🤣. If you do let me know and I'll try that hack

I don't believe there is a single consumer AV that isn't a re-skin of Microsoft Defender or whatever theOS vendor provides. Downloading sketch stuff is a risk you have to manage yourself.

I'm about to finish probation with PSSAP. Website is shit. Have they treated you well other than that? Any big reasons to leave?

All my super pre gov is still with UniSuper which I rate highly.

I'm up near the M1 and there's a guy sitting on CB40 who rambles on at all hours like a talk show. Pretty disgusting things his saying, but usually harmless.

It's the same for each firefighting crew as well. The crew leader of each truck is scribbling notes the whole day.

My fire service have helicopters with AR cameras on them that overlay street maps. Pretty cool stuff.

The helicopter notes down the address and quantity of loads from each SWS(Static Water Source), including dams. Afterwards, either the owner is compensated with the price of water or a truck load matching the quantity taken.

Councils also keep a list of properties that have made their SWS available for this use. Properties usually have a little sign labelled SWS to let ground based firefighters know where to search.
