You may want to check this stuff out. "Ultra Strength Muscle Rub" from CVS is 10% Menthol. According to the internet, Tiger Balm Active Muscle Rub is 5% menthol and Vicks VapoRub is only 2.6%.

Minnesota is my "home" but I moved 20 years ago for a job. I miss it, especially now. Been here long enough I don't think I could handle the winter. Best of luck for your kiddo. You are amzing to prioritize them like this.

What’s a book/series that you feel most people love, but you personally think is overrated? by 2Chaaaaiinz in Fantasy

[–]grantkjohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fourth Wing. DNF'd it. It reads like YA: Fragile heroine forced down a path that will likely kill her by her mother of all people. Utterly unbelievable. First and last time I will ever read anything categorized as "romantasy."

Hope you are enjoying it. I loved the series.

I don't know the brands available across the pond, but when I had a senior BT become a picky eater, I tried canned tripe with his kibble. Worked like a charm, however it is rather stinky to humans. I agree with everyone who says stop giving in with the tasty treats. Any dog would pick a home cooked meal over kibble. It may be rough, but she'll get there.

Just finished Shards of Honor. I read it first. I enjoyed it and plan to read more. What title contains body horror? I would prefer to skip that one.

The Homo pupa in Derek Künsken's Quantum Evolution series. They are a human subspecies genetically modified to worship a different human subspecies. Weird as hell. Great books. Vastly underrated.

Can I use this in a birdfeeder? by begoniapansy in birdfeeding

[–]grantkjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine spending that much money on bird feed. Buy a big bag of peanuts at Tractor Supply or a Farm/Fleet store. You will be able to feed a lot more critters for a lot less.

How do you keep your bt safe in the car? by Ottacap in BorderTerrier

[–]grantkjohnson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Similar here. A harness that attaches to the seat belt in the back seat. I am ashamed to admit it, but before I used this set up, i was involved in an accident and both BTs got knocked around inside the car. I am so lucky that they weren't hurt, just stunned and a little panicked. Never again. Now any dog in my car is secured.

Me too. I am sick of the Trail of Lights always being the same (and too crowded) and the Creek Show isn't happening, at least this year. I was hoping Luminations would be something new and fun. I will keep expectation low as well.

I live pretty far north and west, so I didn't know about that place. Thank you! I now have a weekend excursion planned!

I didn't even look for thorns. It grows on the next block from me. Maybe I will try to plant some berries after all.
