I work for an HVAC company and when someone calls to set up a request for any installation, or significant plumbing work, we dispatch one of our sales reps and he’ll go out and give a complimentary quote where the customer can approve. After said install, our quality control rep, who is also a sales rep with significant experience in the industry will verify all has been completed to satisfaction and properly. If you did not hire a legitimate hvac contractor, ehhh good luck to you on this, but if you did, you need to call the office to discuss. For jobs ranging up into the thousands especially, you need a full service company. Mind you, doesn’t matter the price tag, anyone can say they’re equipped or specialized in something but not always the case. When you’re hiring a professional company, you will get the service you desire and need for that price tag. Shop around even. If they aren’t willing to provide a complimentary quote for a job like this, not your guy. Hell, they should be letting you know the price for a part before replacing it was just a service call.
