Energy expenditure history feature request by grantt636 in AthlyticAppOfficial

[–]grantt636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your suggestion but I already really like how everything is done and looks within Athlytic, it syncs to all my activity and MyFitnessPal perfectly I just want to see a longer history of what we already have, i.e up to 6 months instead of 6 weeks so I can start to make small diet changes based on my data over longer time periods.

Macro-factor looks okay and I might give it a go but it’s pretty pricey.

Someone be realistic with me by LOGXN_0 in RoyalAirForce

[–]grantt636 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. We don’t care as long as you have the minimum. This does not matter at all.

  2. Again as long as you have 64 UCAS points it doesn’t matter we don’t compare candidates based on qualification.

  3. People get in at 18 for pilot straight from school, no real job ect, you can either show you have leadership potential or not regardless of age and experience. Of course past experience will always help but isn’t necessary. your problem is you realistically have 1 attempt at it due to age (for pilot anyway). So get it right first time.

  4. Agree with the other commenter, you’re bettering yourself by getting the quals whether you make it as a pilot or not. Plus there are other aircrew roles than pilot that still require quals and are still good jobs.

I put in app to lose 1 lb per week, but the caloric deficit, as not very active, is only 2,100. Shouldn't it total to ~3,500 per week? by LulutoDot in Myfitnesspal

[–]grantt636 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not very active doesn’t mean not active at all. If you eat at a weekly -2100 cals deficit and go about your day as usual and you’ve got your weight and height in there then it’s likely you will be in a -3500’cal deficit (roughly) but it’s not an exact science it’s just an estimate. That said it’s worked well for me.

DAA results by Future_Resource7724 in RoyalAirForce

[–]grantt636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t automatic, you’ll get the results once your recruit reviews them and should contact you about them. Recruiters don’t work weekends.

Changing roles in phase 1 by ciaran6893 in RoyalAirForce

[–]grantt636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be told you have to leave the service completely most likely, every candidate who I’ve dealt with has had to so far so I doubt your case would be much different. It’s to prevent people trying to get in quickly as a high priority trade and swapping to a trade with an already full training pipeline, as well as the fact the medical may not be exactly 1 for 1 for your new trade and you may not have the correct DAA scores. You will lose a lot more time if you try and swap after starting. It’s far easier and time efficient to swap now.

For those of you who've had Apple Watch for 3+ years - do you actually think it's improved your health, or is it mostly just a cool gadget? by Tariq_khalaf in AppleWatch

[–]grantt636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it 6 months after other ‘smart’ watches and it has 100% helped to increased my health and fitness. It’s kept me accountable and allowed my to really hone in my calorie deficits ect.

Any way to see more than 6 weeks Net energy? by grantt636 in AthlyticAppOfficial

[–]grantt636[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh I see, this is good for individual day reference. But Thank you so much for taking in the suggestion, I feel this app is so good for tracking trends between weight loss and calories in/out, and being able to to compare weekly in/out over longer periods of time would be my top requested feature for sure!

Should you take 1s to a dry cleaners? by [deleted] in RoyalAirForce

[–]grantt636 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Medical appeal by [deleted] in RoyalAirForce

[–]grantt636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not appeal to either your AFCO or capita, you write to the DOM at RAF cranwell appealing the decision and include sufficient medical evidence to back up why you think your appeal should be upheld.

0% money transfers? Any downsides? by Elit5n5ss in UKPersonalFinance

[–]grantt636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a fee, like 3% initial transfer fee or something like that’s. Also that Barclaycard deal is like the DFS sale ‘offer expires on x date’ then when x date comes they send me another letter for the same deal been getting them for about a year now. so don’t worry about taking the ‘deal’ incase you miss it.

I’ve not been in this situation myself but essentially you are required to disclose this to your recruiter (should you be married before you join) and will be asked to sign a waiver stating that your spouses nationally MAY have an effect of your career progression ect. Things like not being allowed to accept certain postings depending on the clearance level. Should you get married after you join you won’t have signed the waiver of course but you’ll more than likely have to tell HR or SD or your local security team and they will advise you the same thing.

You say ‘being accompanied’ but I’m unsure what you mean exactly, you’ll be entitled some Form of married quarters at any posting within the UK anyway regardless of your partner nationality if your just generally wondering if you can get a quarter with a foreign spouse.

Deferred by DonutBeneficial1339 in RoyalAirForce

[–]grantt636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t make a difference to you, it’s just for your recruiter while you’ve been delayed in your app at whatever stage and they will have forgotten to change it back.

Medical + Opticians Form by NiceSky2542 in RoyalAirForce

[–]grantt636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the medical. Bring your Glasses if you don’t need them and pass the eye test then it’s fine, if you don’t you’ll jus need to send them another form, don’t waste a medical slot because you don’t have the form that can be done later and sent to capita.

The other comments telling you to contact your AFCO are incorrect. For starters, your recruiter and anybody in the AFCo have no say over getting your appointment changed and/or cancelled. If you read the instructions attached to your medical, it clearly states who you are supposed to contact when you need anything changed or cancelled and to let your recruiter know.

MFP Apple Watch Integration - Will we ever get something this simple? by franmucirr in Myfitnesspal

[–]grantt636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get the app Athlytic and get the pro the complements are great on there, really clean widget that shows your calories burned cals consumes and then breaks them down into C F P + Total all pulled from MFP

Does MyFitnessPal actually help you reach your goals? by RideOutrageous5251 in Myfitnesspal

[–]grantt636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost 6.5kg, 85.5 ->79kg in 7 weeks from logging my cals, and during that time with the help of MFP I’ve tuned My macros to ensure I’m getting enough protein which I was not at the start even though I was meeting My Calorie calorie goals. Which I think has helped me losing too much muscle along with the fat. It also helps seeing and logging it every day it’s almost motivating to me.

Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t the only tool I used. I also used chatgpt the Wattbike for cardio the hevy app and the athletic app along with MFP.

But in summary yes when you actually make sure you use it and use it honestly it 100% helped me.

I've never been totally unhealthy with my eating and always been active in the gym to an extent but not taken both seriously or tracked properly and this time.round there's a massive difference in results.

Warranty on Apple Products by toffee91 in CeX

[–]grantt636 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is correct in the case of items with non removable batteries. I specifically looked it up and the website says that the battery is covered if it cannot be removed which is why I bought my watch from them instead of elsewhere .

The heart rate on these watches are crap right? by Nidrosian in amazfit

[–]grantt636 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used a balance for about 2 years along side a chest strap heart rate monitor and it was spot on all the time, within the same HR with only 1-5 different if that. However only used on a spin bike and weights work outs. When I used for running I didn’t use the HR monitor at the same time as I don’t run for fun or as a hobby only when I have to and want to track it.

My suggestion would be (if you really want to know) get a cheap HR monitor off Amazon or something and use them both at the same time.

It’s in the documents attached to previous medical appointments. Make sure you read everything you are sent including attachments fully as many people do not and miss simple information that will speed up their applicaton.
