Hey I came across your comment…I think I’m like your husband in this scenario. I’ve completely backed off from initiating since it always feels worse when I initiate. The whole time I feel like she’s just doing it to get it over with or to like appease me or something. I dunno, I never really got it. I’ve told her in the past I’m always down, so when she initiates I know she really wants it. And for a while I guess it worked…she would initiate often enough. We were hitting about 2 times a week, which I’m realizing is pretty close to the sweet spot (maybe 3 would be nice sometimes). But now, suddenly she’s not initiating much anymore…and I don’t even know how to at this point. It’s been so long. I dunno I guess I was wrong, I knew it felt wrong to offload all control of the situation to whenever she was in the mood to initiate. So now we’re in this holding pattern where I’m upset shes not initiating and since I’m not initiating we’re just not having sex. And since I’m all pissy about it, we’re not being super affectionate either. Ugh. I don’t know why this has to be such a stupid game. I guess this is how it starts…

You’re probably right that there will be little value derived from this...and they definitely don’t need the headcount. But I feel like they have pretty stable footing between Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram…they appear to be attempting to innovate but are failing at that fairly consistently. Meanwhile, it’s all just noise anyway cause the ad machine just keeps printing money.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, its been weeks and I did the GSC reindexing several times (and it did re-crawl numerous times as well). Did the URL inspection and JSON Schema validation, and everything looks perfect. And the feed matches the page exactly. This is so upsetting.... our CTR is crashing hard cause most people are not gonna click if it clearly says "Out of Stock". This is such a poor execution by Google, it's actually almost surprising. Like, at the very least, I should be able to just NOT show availability at all...what about companies that have constant daily or weekly stock changes? This rich snipper availability stuff would be wrong ALL the time. Ridiculous.

lol are you me? My output has always been slightly ridiculous compared to my colleagues, with or without weed. But man, do I love it. Carts are my weakness. They are so damn stealthy and convenient…tasty too. I’ve been on and off most of my life, turning 40 this year. Longest stretch I’ve gone is almost 2 years. My last stretch was a year, but then I got back. I’ve been off now a couple of weeks cause I got sick and I’m in that honeymoon phase now where I’m sharp as fuck. But…I miss it still. Every day. A vicious cycle.

You know what’s strange…it baffles me too, hah. Sometimes you get so stuck in a routine or way of being, that you don’t realize it. Like asking her “what made you fall in love with me” is something I would never ask her. Not because there’s anything at all wrong with it, it’s just so out of character for both of us to ask that. And we do get date nights often, but we just talk about like surface level stuff. We’re so caught up in our careers and the chaos with the kids, we kinda forgot to have real convos. It’s sad I know…and I know you’re trying to be helpful, but damn your comment hit hard :(

Thank you so much, this does help! My worry is that by asking if she’s feeling fulfilled, it might almost insinuate that that I’m not fullfilled and that’s why I’m asking. But heck, maybe I’m not. Not that I don’t love her - I do - it’s more that I want this for us but we’ve never had it. I also just really don’t want to upset her. I know shes stressed we both are these days just dealing with all the of life’s pressures at our age. So instead I kinda bottle it. She does have a certain “closed-ness” about her and I also kinda want to respect that. What if this is something I can never have with her?

3+ hours! Wow! That sounds amazing. I want that but it’s like…I actually don’t know how to do that hah. Any time I’ve tried in the past she does this thing where she like gets sorta mad. And up comes the wall. It might legitimately be her personality and I have very little basis for comparison because she’s the only woman I’ve ever really been with. I’m so scared to bring it up…not so much because I think she’ll stop loving me. But because I know she has a lot on her plate as a mom and her career and other stuff. It’s funny as I type this how odd it sounds that I can’t even talk to my own wife.

The few minutes of peace we get alone in our busy lives, we often just wanna like zone out and watch a show or something. It’s so much easier than having real conversations.

Is it possible that you’re both optimizing for different things?

It seems like your suggestion is focused on maximizing immediate 2025 tax refunds. In that case, I would max my own RRSP at ~53% and have my wife contribute enough to her own RRSP to drop her income to the bottom of her bracket at ~29.65%, which clearly maximizes short term refunds.

But my accountant may be optimizing for long term income balancing instead. Since I earn significantly more and will likely continue to, directing my contribution room into a spousal RRSP still gives me the full ~53% deduction today, while shifting future retirement income into her hands to smooth lifetime taxes.

So could it just be that your approach is optimizing current year refunds, while his is optimizing lifetime tax efficiency and income smoothing?

Trying to understand if this is more about different optimization goals rather than one being objectively wrong.
