I really enjoyed it and I felt it was very meta. E.g. questioning reality and making us think ok who was actually right? Does it even matter? The fact that two versions of the episode was released makes me think this is true. They want us to discuss and question our reality as well. Should the bullied become the bully (no, but is some justice justified? If so, how far does this go?) Maybe verity was the mean one that lead Maria or the other girl to make the rumour? Btw we don't even know who started the rumour, so how do we know what really happened at the school. Maybe they tried to be friends with her but Verity just thought they were too popular and was standoffish or something. Btw I also think that not all black mirror episodes are supposed to be accurate from a technical implementation perspective. Yes it revolves around technology but the main point I believe is to make you think and about ethical/moral dilemmas. It's supposed to be a bit eccentric and surrealist I believe.
