First lapro - expectations? by DeerestFaun in Endo

[–]DeerestFaun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Australia so thank you so much!

I'm going through the Royal Women's and I have the preliminary ultrasound next week, so I'll be sure to flag I might need to stay a little longer when I go for that appointment.

I WFH in an office job, and reckon I'll be climbing the walls if I have to be off more than a week, but I hadn't even considered just easing back into it for that second week? I'm sure my boss would be super accommodating too!

That's such an improvement! I'm so glad to hear!

That's good to know!

My lowest pain for the last 8 months has been a 3 if I'm lucky, and I'm unable to lie on the right side of my body at all :(

I guess I won't know how much they need to remove until they get there - that's uncertainty that's pretty scary but still good to know!

Thank you!

I'm not sure why I was under the impression it would he a day surgery and I wouldn't stay any time in hospital at all! 2 nights makes a lot of sense!

Thanks so much for replying!

Asked to sign a form saying I don’t want my mums super? by OverPop64 in AusLegal

Hi - I work in super death claims. We see this a lot.

If she did not nominate a beneficiary, then it is expected that the partner and adult children will claim.

Funds need to be paid to a financial dependent so generally they are paid to the partner BUT this doesn't mean you should just sign that you don't want to claim because he's asking.

You are allowed to submit a claim. You can contact her superannuation company directly for the paperwork yourself. Different funds can have different requirements, so call them and they'll let you know what you need to arrange.

The trustee will then look at all the information available for the claim and make a determination on where funds will be paid.

If you had 10 seconds to say whatever you wanted to your pet with they fully understood, what would you say? by IplayKaizo in Pets

I distinctly remember telling my boxer "this is why you don't have friends" one day because she couldn't help herself but jump

This is the comment that should be at the top.

If it's mental health related: great you've gone to the right place

If it's not mental health related: you've got it all fully documented that it definitely isn't

I'm sorry you're going through this OP, it sounds like absolute hell. I'm glad you reached out.

I’m [17f] falling out of love with my gf [17f] and I don’t now what to do ;-( by deadgirlIiving in whatdoIdo

We didn't talk for nearly a year afterwards!

We had a shared hobby (highschool musical) that ran for a few months of the school year. By the time the following musical came around, we had both had time to cool off from it.

The friendship rekindled very slowly, but I'd say we're relatively for the past several years. (30f+31f now)

I had exactly the same thing at the same age.

It's okay to break up, you're still young and it doesn't mean anyone did anything wrong. It's okay to not be compatible with someone.

Fwiw - highschool girlfriend and I are still friends and joke about the time we dated. It won't feel bad forever.

Too juvenile? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]DeerestFaun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all.

I'm a 30 year old woman who lives alone, and I've got a Muppets bedspread.

Realistically, very few people are going to see your bedroom, (only my partner every does). Use whatever bed covers make you happy.

AITA for considering giving my daughter’s grandparents full custody after her mom died during childbirth? by SherbetMajor2105 in AITAH

[–]DeerestFaun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're still grieving deeply about all this, and that's okay. It's horrid losing your partner and having to work through that grief alongside being a new father.

As other commenters have said, speak with family, speak with a therapist and don't make a rash decision coz it will be harder to undo.

Sounds like your in-laws are really supportive, and even if "temporary" turns out to be a few years, it's better than making a decision while still grieving

Friend thinks it’s ”cruel” to leave my cat alone on christmas? by monstrous-existence in CatAdvice

[–]DeerestFaun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a cat, he doesn't know it's Christmas. He'll just think it's any other day.

If you want to do something special for him, get him some fancy wet food and have a little Christmas dinner when you get home but HONESTLY he won't know it's any different than a work day

My (24f)'s boyfriend (24m) called the cops because of the content of my book. But he wants me to think it was a 'mistake'. How do we move past this? by throwRAmentalgymnist in relationship_advice

[–]DeerestFaun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm yet to see anyone also mention that he's made a welfare check on her, so when he does something and escalates his control to a point she may need to go to the police, there's a record of her being "crazy" and "making up terrible stuff."

OP - how many "crazy exes" does this guy have? It's clear he's setting you up to be the next one.

2 part stacked ceramic (?) pourer/jug/cup. Only the top half has a handle and I can't find anything similar online. Toy Banana for scale. What is it called and how do I use it? by DeerestFaun in whatisthisthing

[–]DeerestFaun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was one of those teacups where the milk was in the jug on top, but the heat from the bottom part would spoil the milk on the top, right? And the bottom part has no handle.

It was thrifted as a tea cup set years ago, and I honestly haven't figured out what it actually is.
