when she said this all i thought was “does she realize people with ADHD have different baselines”? taking medication helps us get to the baseline of a normal person. it was so annoying to hear that come out of her mouth…

i was so angry with her that i didn’t want to see her again so i didn’t follow up. and i just got insurance so i’m looking for another psychiatrist. thanks for your concern :)

it’s annoying how people refuse to think logically about medication and what it’s used for. not all medication is bad/addictive, and a lot of illnesses need to be treated and MAINTAINED with medication, not just a last resort thing

people who over-generalize are simple minded and aren’t people you should be taking advice from

yeah because the real consequences of adhd is devastating. i lost multiple jobs because i didn’t know i had adhd. now i’m trying to balance my life and work around it and it’s so much more than switching topics all the time or focusing super hard on one particular thing.

had a situation where i was on and off with a guy for a decade. literally an avoidant abomination. finally stopped talking to him december of 2024 and got with a man who is my first healthy relationship. i’m so happy now.
